Create Automatic Mode and ICC Profiles
Create Automatic Mode and ICC Profiles in Color Proof Pro
With Color Proof Pro software version 7.0 or higher, proofers with a built-in colorimeter can use the automatic mode and create ICC profiles without external tools. While it was necessary in previous versions to create the ICC profiles with an external software, e.g. Prinect Color Toolbox, and link the EPL files to the ICC profile, it is now possible to generate completed ICC profiles directly in Color Proof Pro.
The description below refers to an automatic process without external ICC profile creation as an alternative to the process of creating an ICC profile in an external tool.
Prerequisite: Profile creation works only for proofers with a built-in colorimeter. In addition, the printer used must be fully set up in "Color Prof Pro Settings" (see Setting Up Printers and Installing Profiles).
Note: The printer used in this example (Epson SC-P 7000) comes with an integrated colorimeter. Measuring of the test chart can be done automatically with this printer after the drying time (at least 10 minutes) set in the printer has expired.
Note: This profile creation uses defined color settings that are optimized for proof purposes. If you require different color settings like those that can be set up in the Prinect Color Toolbox, for example, you must continue to use the process with external ICC profile creation.
