Importing master data from Prinect Prinance
One way of importing master data into the MDS is to use an XML file (Heidelberg specific) or a ZIP archive containing XML files.
While exporting master data, Prinect Prinance generates such an XML file in the source directory (hotfolder) for master data import of Prinect Cockpit. The contained master data will be written into the MDS after successful testing against the import rules (see Import rules).
Which master data can be imported?
You can import the following master data with one XML file each:
•Paper data records
•Customer data records
•Staff data records
Particularity: The staff data records are not displayed in the Prinect Cockpit. They are only saved in the master data store. The Prinect Cockpit "knows" only users and no staff. However, you can define that a user is automatically created in the master data store from every staff data record during import of the staff data records. This user is also available for selection as a user on the press when you have performed Synchronization between the MDS and Prinect Press Center/Prinect CP2000 Center. This is of particular importance for production data collection.
This master data must be uniquely identified by one or more unique keys and contain the required mandatory attributes. The unique keys and the obligatory attributes data records for the individual data records are listed below.
These are one or more attributes which uniquely identify the data record. For example, a paper data record is uniquely identified by the two attributes "Number" and "ProductName" ("Brand" in JDF language). The Unique Keys are used to check during data record import whether or not the data record is already present.

The paper size (raw sheet size) is not a mandatory attribute. During master data extraction from a job (JDF file), the raw sheet size is given under "Media Resource" in the private attribute "HDM:RawDimension". This is currently only written in Prinect Prinance jobs. |
