"External PDF Processing" Option

Prerequisite: You must have the "Smart Automation" license for this step.

This option lets you copy PDF files from a Prinect Manager job into a folder of your choice to process these files with external processes. "External processes" means that PDF processing tools that run outside the Prinect Manager can be used. The externally processed files must be stored in a pre­defined return folder. Then processing of the files continues in the Prinect workflow.

In this way, in an automated workflow PDF documents can be processed first with external applica­tions and afterwards in the Prinect workflow.

"Output directory" box

Click "Browse" to select an existing folder or create a new one in the system environment of the Pri­nect server. The PDF files from the current print job are copied to this folder for external processing.

"Return directory" box

This displays the name of the return folder where the processed PDF files have to be filed. The default name is "PDConnect/PDFReturn". The "PDConnect" return folder is located on the Prinect server in the "PTConfig" share.
