Prerequisite: The following prerequisites must be met to be able to make full use of "Versioning":

·A master version must have been defined in "Jobs > Product Description" in a print job that will be edited with "Versioning".

·You must have assigned pages to their page list placeholders before running the Prepare sequence if you wish to compare the base or version-specific parts and you have several files per version. This is not absolutely necessary if there is only one composite file per version.

·In "Jobs > Job Settings > Colors > Product Colors" you define for each color separation which separation will be version-specific and which will not. Setting a separation in the "Type" column to "Normal, versioned" will make this separation version-specific for this job.

For "Versioning", all the version-specific separations should also be defined accordingly.

Basically you can have the following situations:

The supplied job data are not separated into base and version-specific parts. They are available as composite files.

The supplied job data are already separated into base and version-specific parts. They are available as separate single files.
