Administration - Preflight Profiles

Preflight Profiles

In the "Qualify" and "Prepare" sequences, you can use preflight profiles in addition to the intrasystem preflight settings. Preflight profiles contain preconfigured sets of preflight test parameters. The Prinect Manager supports the following types of preflight profiles:

Heidelberg preflight profiles

Some Heidelberg preflight profiles are installed by default during the installation.

General preflight profiles

These are, for example, preflight profiles created with the "Enfocus PitStop" software.

Preflight Action Lists

You can create preflight action lists with Enfocus PitStop.

Administration of these types of preflight elements is done in "Preflight Profiles" in "Administration". This is where you can, for example, import preflight profiles or action lists created externally and, by doing this, make them known to the Prinect Manager You can now run the following actions:

Importing Preflight Profiles,

Exporting Preflight Profiles

rename profiles and

Deleting Folders or Profiles.

You can also organize profiles into folders.

The folders can be opened or closed respectively by clicking on them.

Caution: You may edit profiles and structures only if no print jobs are currently running! Changes such as removing profiles or renaming folders affect the references in the jobs, i.e. old jobs may not be printed correctly, because the profile used cannot be found.

Note: You can use Preflight profiles in the Prinect workflow only if they are specified in "Resources > Preflight Profiles".

Importing Preflight Profiles

If an additional profiles are to be made available to the system, they must be integrated into the system using the "Import" function. When importing, the corresponding files will be automatically copied from the source directory (e.g. from the CD or a network drive) into the corresponding directory on the server.

1.Mark the folder where the profile you want will be added to.

2.Click "Import" in the "ICC Profiles" window. The dialog where you select profiles opens.

3.Enable or disable the "Prinect Neighborhood"  option, depending on where the profiles to import are stored.

To search for profiles outside the Prinect neighborhood, select the computer containing the profiles in the "Computer" listbox and go to the respective folder.

When you search in the Prinect neighborhood, the contents of the folder "[Prinect_Server_Name]\PTConfig\SysConfig\Resources\Preflight-Profiles" is displayed.

4.Select the folder where the profile files are stored.

5.Select the profile file(s) you want and click "Select". You can use multi selection here.

Note: You can also import profile files (".icc", ".pf" or ".icm") directly in the Windows file system by copying or moving the profile files into the Prinect profile folder. The profile folder of the Prinect server is located in:

"[Prinect_Server_Name]\PTConfig\SysConfig\Resources\Preflight-Profiles"

The storage location for preflight profiles is shown in "Administration > Settings > System" where you can edit the path if necessary (see System).

Because the folder structure is a mirror of the directory structure on the server, profiles of the same name can be saved into different folders.

Exporting Preflight Profiles

If you wish to make preflight profiles available to another system, you can export them to that system with the export function. During the export, the profiles are automatically copied from the source folder to the respective target folder.

1.Select the Preflight profile(s) (multi selection is possible) or a profile folder and click "Export" (alternative: choose "File > Export > Preflight Profiles..." in the menu).

2.In the file selection dialog, select the path to the target folder where you want to file the preflight profile.

3.Click "Save".

The preflight profile you selected is now exported to the folder you set.

Deleting Folders or Profiles

Select the Preflight profile(s) (multi selection is possible) or a profile folder and click "Delete" (alternative: use the key shortcut Ctrl + Del). After confirming the security query, the selected profiles are removed from the structure and deleted from the profile folder of the Prinect server.

If a folder is selected when you click on "Delete", all profiles in this folder and all sub-folders will be deleted. The root directory can not be deleted.
