Introduction
What is the Prinect Integration Manager?
The Prinect Integration Manager offers complete integration of the entire production with its underlying workflows in prepress, the pressroom and in postpress. This means sustainable simplification and acceleration of all process tasks. The Prinect Integration Manager offers maximum automation, integration and decentralized processing. Besides connection to offset and digital presses, the Prinect Integration Manager supports web-to-print workflows with extensive automation and a link to Management Information Systems (MIS). The Prinect Portal provides you with a very comprehensive web user interface that offers protected access to many functions of the Integration Manager.
The Prinect Integration Manager comprises all the functions of the print shop workflow. The following variants are available for special sections:
"Prinect Digital Front End" (Prinect DFE) is available for workflows where only one or more digital presses are driven (and perhaps a simple CTP device).
The Prinect Prepress Manager can be licensed if only the prepress functionality will be used.
The Prinect Pressroom Manager is available for pure press room operation.
Accordingly, the Prinect Postpress Manager is responsible for controlling finishing.
The workflow with a management information system
The Management Information System (MIS) records and calculates all the job-specific data like the job ticket including the job structure, the required production steps, basic layout information and data on job management (run length, paper, colors, etc.) and sends them to the Prinect Manager.
The prepress operator refines the specified production steps and uses the layout information (if provided by the MIS) for imposition of the press sheets.
The Cockpit is the user interface of the Prinect Manager. All the process steps from prepress, press and finishing are brought together in the Cockpit. If required, you can modify the data of single print jobs in the Cockpit.
Manual intervention is generally unnecessary in the pressroom. The job data, including the data for preferences and job management, is automatically transmitted to the presses and finishing machines.
Production data from the press room are reported back by the Prinect Manager automatically, i.e. without manual intervention, to the Cockpit user interface, to the Prinect Portal or to the MIS.
Even non-automated presses and finishing machines (e.g. "GTO52") can be included via the Data Terminal, a production data acquisition terminal that is completely integrated into the workflow.
