Upgrading Prinect 2017 to Prinect 2018

General Notes

Note: The MetaDimension product is no longer supported by Prinect version 2018. For that reason, the Prinect Maintenance Center prevents a system upgrade on computers that have a MetaDimension installed. Furthermore, the Prinect Maintenance Center prevents a system upgrade in workflow systems in which a MetaDimension is integrated.

Note: The Content System product is no longer supported by Prinect version 2018 and must be uninstalled always before an upgrade so that an upgrade to this version can be run.

After the Remote Upgrade

Prerequisites:
Your Prinect system is successfully upgraded.
Available updates are installed.
Prinect 2018 is up and running.

Installations where Prinect Archive System is used together with Prinect Content System will remain on Oracle until a successful migration from Prinect Archiver Pro was performed or Content System was uninstalled

If you have installed Content System, skip this section and proceed with Content System, Content System Link, Content System Monitor.

After successful migration perform the following steps:

1.Uninstall Oracle if it is not used any longer!

2.Double-click on "Heidelberg Common Database Oracle 16.xx.xxx" in "Add & Remove programs" in the "Control Panel" and remove this product.

3.Reboot the server.

4.After the reboot you have to delete two folders manually: "X:\Oracle" and "Y:\db_backup".

Caution: Please pay close attention not to delete the new folder with the same name for MS-SQL!

Content System, Content System Link, Content System Monitor

If you have not installed Content System, skip this section and proceed with Package Designer (PD).

1.Content System Update - Part 1 of 3 on the Content System Server

•Stop all Content System services and close Content System Service Control

•Check/Start "OracleHEIDB_11g_HomeTNSListener" Service.

•Check/Start "OracleServiceHEIDB" Service.

•Run "Install Prinect Content System 2017" from "SetupPrinect.exe" on the USB stick.

2.Content System Update - Part 2 of 3 on the Content System File Server:

•Run "Install Prinect Content System Monitor 2017" from "SetupPrinect.exe" on the USB stick.

3.Content System Update - Part 3 of 3 on the Prinect Prepress Manager/Integration Manager:

•Run "Install Prinect Content System Link 2017" from "SetupPrinect.exe" on the USB stick.

•Stop and start the Prinect System with the Supervisor UI (PMC)

Package Designer (PD)

Note: This is a stand-alone product. It can be installed anytime after Remote Upgrade to 2017.

Run "Install Prinect Package Designer 2016" from "SetupPrinect.exe" on the USB stick (Prinect 2017 Add-ons/Prinect Package Designer 2017)

Prepress Interface (PPI)

Upgrade delivered with Prinect 2017 USB stick\Prinect Prepress Interface.

Prepress Interface Service (PPIS)

Upgrade delivered with Prinect 2017 USB stick\Prinect Prepress Interface.

Prinect Business Manager

Upgrade delivered with Prinect 2017 USB stick\Prinect Business Manager.

Dipco & CTP Tools (DIPCO)

No installation necessary for these products. These products are installed by the Prinect Signa Sta­tion 17 Installer to
"C:\Program Files\Heidelberg\Prinect Signa Station 17\Marks"

Stahlfolder Connector Service (SFCS)

Run "StahlFolderConnectorSetup.exe" from %HD_STD_USERDATA%PTConfig\Installer

MetaDimension Remote Printmanager (MDPM)

The software is part of the MetaDimension application software and is located in:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Heidelberg\MetaDimension\HD_Installer"

PSC Editor (Paper Stretch Compensation)

The software is part of the MetaDimension application software and is located in:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Heidelberg\MetaDimension\HD_Installer"

TIFF Toolbox (MDTT)

The software is part of the Prinect Shooter application software and is located in:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Heidelberg\Prinect Shooter\HD_Installer".

Prinect Portal

Before installing Prinect Portal in a web environment, you have to enable three additional contexts "imageserver", "PrinectPortal" and "cas" in the Heidelberg Reverse Proxy. Heed small and capital let­ters in this case. HD Service offers customers working with the HD Reverse Proxy a new version of the Reverse Proxy Tools that will enable the new contexts. This ensures Prinect Portal is not only acces­sible, e.g. at "http://www.myprintshop.com/cdms" but also at "http://www.myprintshop.com/imag­eserver",  "http://www.myprintshop.com/PrinectPortal" and "http://www.myprintshop.com/cas".
