Table [5]
The "Color" column of this table lists all the color separations that are found in the PDF document. The "Layer" column shows you which effect is assigned to these. You can change an effect by right-clicking it. Alternatively, you can also use the list boxes [7].
By setting and removing the checkmarks, you can select whether a layer will display in the view or not.
The order in which the color separations are listed in the table defines the order in which they are applied. The topmost color separations are printed first. These are mainly the process colors. The effects then follow after that, like varnish. The lowest layer is applied the last and, as a result, lies on top of all other ones in the preview.
You can change the order with the following buttons:
By doing this, you change the order of the color separations in the table. Mark the color you want and move it up or down using the buttons.
These are, from left to right: "to the top", "one step up", "one step down" and "to the bottom".
Effect list boxes [7]
Mark the color separation that will be assigned an effect and select the effect from these two lists. In the first list, first select the type of effect:
•Color Printing
This separation is not assigned an effect but is printed to the material as a process color.
•Monochrome Printing
The color is opaque when displayed. You can set a different color for display purposes by clicking the color box.
•Varnish
The separation is equivalent to a varnish job. You can select the gloss in the second list box: "Gloss Varnish", "Dull Varnish" or "Satin varnish".
•Special Ink
The separation is applied with a color that has special effects, for example, gloss metallic or neon. For "Neon Color", you can set the color in the "Properties" tab.
•Foil
The separation is bonded with a glossy film. This can have a slight surface structure or be extremely smooth and mirroring ("Flat foil"). For "Colored foil" and "Colored flat foil", you can set the color in the "Properties" tab.
•Embossing
Embossing can be seen in three dimensions in the preview. The patterns can either be raised ("Embossing") or recessed ("Debossing").
•Braille
This effect makes braille visible in three dimensions, for example, on medical packaging.
•Ignore
This separation does not display in the preview.
Height/Depth
For "Embossing", you can set the depth of the recess or the height of the raised pattern. To do this, you select a unit and enter the number in the box or you use the slider.
Material
In "Material", you define how the substrate will be visualized. You can select the material from a selection of predefined materials and set its thickness.

Select the type of material in this section. The following options are available:
•Folding carton board
•Corrugated board
•Inverted corrugated board
•Plastic foil
with different surfaces
•Corrugated plastic board
fluted plastic in different selectable colors

Finishing
In this group you can set further finishings that will be applied to the paper after printing.
Background
You can set a coated or uncoated white liner or a cold foil as a background.
Lamination
You can laminate all of the material with a matt or glossy silk sheen.
Ambient
