Prinect Signa Station Server
Notes on the Prinect Signa Station Server Option
Prinect Signa Station Server is a software basic package for using functions of the Prinect Signa Station imposition software in conjunction with the Prinect Integration Manager. This package that you can purchase as an option requires a license. It is an engine controlled from the Cockpit without its own user interface that runs the Prinect Signa Station functions in the background. In this way, many functions of Prinect Signa Station can be used for standard jobs, without the Cockpit user having to work interactively with Prinect Signa Station. The Prinect Signa Station Server automatically puts together the layout in the background during a JDF import from the MIS.
The Prinect Signa Station Server is installed together with a fully operational Prinect Signa Station on the Prinect server. After installation, this Prinect Signa Station starts by force once to configure the server. The preferences of both are synchronized. This means that you set up the preferences on Prinect Signa Station and these preferences are also automatically applied to the Prinect Signa Station Server. In this process, you must set the paths to the default directories in the Preferences.
The "General > Use Global Settings..." option is enabled automatically by the Prinect Signa Station Server. If other interactive Prinect Signa Stations are connected to the server, you can either work with separate systems or set the default directories in each system and enable "Use Global Settings" so that all the systems use uniform settings.
Normally, the interactive Prinect Signa Station is not used on the server. In the case of extremely powerful servers, it is possible, however, to also use Prinect Signa Station interactively on the Prinect server.
You will find details about configuration of the Prinect Signa Station Server and the settings required in the Cockpit in the Prinect Integration Manager documentation and in the "Prinect Signa Station - Installation" manual.
