General

Measures in this group covers general productivity parameters. These parameters are supported by any kind of devices connected to Prinect.

 

Fact/Measure

Description

Avg Effective Processing Time per Operation (min)

Average time a machine is occupied by operations.

 

Calculation: [Effective Processing Time (h)] / [Operation Count] * 60

Effective Processing Time (h)

Total of time a machine is occupied by processing operations. Begins by starting an operation and ends by finishing an oper­ation.

Gross Volume

Total production amount (including waste). The unit depend basically on the increment the device provided. For sheetfed presses: Gross impressions.

Idle Time (h)

Time the device had been switched on, but was idling (not producing in general).

Job Count

Number of different production jobs operated. A production job includes one or more operations.

Net Output (1/h)

Average net output speed. Shows the effective speed producing goods including all stops.

Number of good impressions produced in the operation related time period between first good sheet and last printed sheet.

Covers the good amount captured for operations only!

Net Productivity (1/h)

Average production speed. Shows the average production speed in general including all stops, provides an indicator if prob­lems (standstills, reduced device speed level etc.) leads to decreased productivity.

Net Volume

Total good production. Gross volume without the waste volume.

The unit depend basically on the increment the device provided. For sheetfed presses: Net impressions.

Net Volume per Operation

Calculation: Good amount captured for operations only / [Operation Count]

Operating Time (h)

Power-On time of the machine (time span between the machine is switched on and off).
Calculation: [Basic Makeready Time (h)] + [Fine Tuning Time (h)] + [Production Time (h)] + [Other Time]

Operation Count

Number of different operations processed.

Production Time (h)

Time the device is producing (any kind of result) exclusive any stops (based on the device status information provided).

Utilization Factor (%)

Percentage of productive machine usage.

Will be calculated based on shop floor data assigned to the time categories "Production time" and "Auxiliary Time".

Calculation: Time spans of activities assigned to the time category [Production Time (h)]] / [Auxiliary Time]

Waste (%)

Percentage of [Waste Volume] based on [Gross Volume].

Total waste production.

Avg. waste amount per operation.

OEE - Rolling Avg 12 (%)

The Avg OEE of the 12 periods previous to the active period.

On a month graph it is 12 previous months, on a day graph it is 12 previous days.

Good Production Time (h)

Nominal production time to produce good sheets without considering any stops, even if recorded without operation.

Makeready Count

Technical consideration of Makeready (not activity related): Counts all form changes, i.e. all intervals between a plate change and an following good production.

 

This is to ensure consistency to performance + production reports.

Makeready Time (h)

Technical consideration of Makeready (not activity related): Time between start operation and start good production (first good sheet counter ON by operation).

Makeready Waste

Total amount printed between Operation start and start good production.

Total number of plates mounted. Can be considered as amount of plate changes. Any plate mounted in any print unit is counted as 1.

Production Stops

Count of all production stops, i.e. the machine stopped a running good production (even if not operation based) for any rea­son.

Production Stops per 1000 Impres­sions

Count of all production stops by 1000 impressions (good sheets).

 

Calculation: 1000 * [Production Stops] / [Net Volume]

Production Waste

Amount of waste sheets printed during good production, i.e. after first start good printing between operation start / opera­tion end.

Transition Time A (h)

Sum of time spent between last good sheet increment of an operation and start of the next operation.

 

This measure shows wasted time between operation and may point to organizational issues at print production.

Transition Time B (h)

Sum of time spent between last good sheet of an operation and start good production of the next operation.

WashUp Cycle Count

Total number of wash up processes at a press. Parallel wash ups for different modules will always counted as 1 cycle.

WashUp Cycle Count per 1000 Impressions

Total number of wash ups by 1000 impressions (good sheets).

WashUp Time (h)

Total time spent for wash up.
