Introduction and Overview
The reliable and simple archiving of jobs and the ability to use them again fast is becoming increasingly important. There are immense benefits in reusing jobs that are already printed.
Fast and reliable reactivation of data to repeat a printed job saves time. In addition, it plays a major role in ruling out fluctuations in quality.
Based on the Prinect Integration Manager, Heidelberg's Prinect Archive System provides you with the ideal prerequisites for the permanent, flexible and easy archiving of your production jobs.
Separation of Production and Archive Management
Archive management of a job is designed not to interrupt your production work within the Prinect Integration Manager and to hold you up as little as possible.
For that reason, the Prinect Archive System is divided in two:
•The additional functions in the Prinect Integration Manager Cockpit
•The Web user interface for management and organization of the archive
A few inputs at the Prinect Integration Manager Cockpit are enough to trigger the archiving of a job or to retrieve a job.
Production capacities are not blocked when new archives are created or the system is configured because this work can be performed on any other computer of the print shop.
The Prinect Archive System is the ideal solution for archiving with fast access and large data volumes.
Integration of the Prinect Archive System into the Prinect JDF-based workflow makes it simple and fast to find and retrieve data from the archive. For example, it lets you select PDF pages or PostScript® files from the archives and integrate them into the workflow again. The specific find and activate function plays an essential part in noticeably speeding up the processing of a job, naturally depending on its size and complexity.

Note: For the standard version of Prinect Archive System, you only need MS SQL Express as the database; the Prinect Data Center with MS SQL Standard is required for the Prinect Archiver Pro add-on.
Note: Safe functioning with MS SQL Express is only ensured for archives containing up to 15,000 jobs.

Installation of Prinect Archive System
Prinect Archive System is automatically included in the installation of the Prinect Integration Manager. When you start the Web User Interface for the first time, you are guided through the few steps needed for configuration of Prinect Archive System by an Assistant. If you purchased a license for "Prinect Archiver Pro", enter your licensing data in the License Manager.
