General Information about Sequence Templates

Sequences for different tasks

Depending on your Prinect configuration, a larger or smaller number of different sequence types are available in the "Administration > Resources >Templates > Sequence Templates". Each sequence type performs certain functions in the Prinect workflow. The procedure for defining a sequence template is described below using the "Qualify" Sequence Template as an example.

The other sequence types are described subsequent to that.

Importing Sequence Templates

You can import preconfigured sequence templates that were created on a different Prinect Manager server with "File > Import > Templates". During the import, the file paths set in the sequence templates are matched to the appropriate paths on the new computer. Clusters are reconstructed if possible and migrated if required. (You will find a description of the term "cluster" in "Qualify" Sequence Template).

If you wish to import, for example, the sequence templates of another Prinect Manager that is located in your local network environment, you will find the relevant files (XML files) below the shared "PTConfig" folder of the appropriate server, namely below the folder "\PTConfig\SysConfig\Resources\Templates\SequenceTemplates" or "\PTConfig\SysConfig\Resources\Templates\GroupTemplates". You can also copy the relevant XML files of another Prinect server to a data medium (e.g. USB stick) and import them from there.

You get the best results if, before import, you use the same name for the devices you create in the target system as those in the source system. After import, you must use the "Check Sequences" function (see next section) one or more times.

Check Sequences

You can use "Tools > Check Sequences..." to check all the configured sequences for consistency of the referenced clusters with the actual clusters. The result of the check displays in a dialog. If the check detects that a referenced cluster is missing, a suitable substitute cluster is presented for you to select. (You will find a description of the term "cluster" in "Qualify" Sequence Template).
