Right-click in the "CAD" section of the window to display a context-sensitive menu.
Note: Some of the functions are identical to the buttons displayed in the "CAD" section.

You can start a CAD request in this window. You must enter a shape ID, the design code, box dimensions, a material and a DesignCreation sequence template for this.
You can also import an existing shape file. Various file formats are possible in this case, e.g. PDF, EPS, DXF, etc.
Shape ID
This is where you enter a shape ID if this was not automatically entered by the MIS.
Shape Name
This is where you enter a shape name if this was not automatically entered by the MIS.
Shape File
After you select "Shape File", you can enter the name of the shape file (incl. path) for import in the text box. If you do not know the correct path, you can use the "Select" button to look for it.
"Select" button
Click "Select" to open a window where you can select the shape file you want from various locations (paths in the file system).
This is where you enter the design code (from the ECMA, FEFCO or EngView catalog).
"Select" button
Click "Select" to open a selection dialog where you can select the design code you want (from the ECMA, FEFCO or EngView catalog).
Box Dimensions
This is where you set the inner dimensions of the box.
Width/Length/Height
This is where you enter the width, length and height of the box. You can change the unit in the list boxes beside the dimensions. The dimensions are converted automatically when you change the unit.
Material
You select the material in this group. Enter either the exact material data (brand, article number) or just the material quality.
Brand
This displays the printing material brand. To edit or select a material, you must select the "Brand" option and click the "Change" button.
"Change" button
Click the "Change" button to open the "Select Printing Material" window. Select the type of printing material you want from the list. After you confirm your choice, the selected printing material displays in "Brand". The related article number is also entered automatically in "Article Number".
Article Number
This displays the article number of the (printing material) brand you selected.
Quality
In packaging, there are set terms for material quality.
Select the "Quality" option and enter the material quality in the box if no exact material is available (e.g. cast-coated board, uncoated board, etc.). You can also click the "Select" button and select one of the available material qualities in the window that then opens.
In this case, the CAD software must decide which material matching the specified quality can best be used to produce the packaging (i.e. producing the least amount of waste).
"Select" button
Click the "Select" button to open a window where you can select the material quality. Select the material quality you want in this window. After you confirm your choice, the selected material quality displays in "Quality".
No default
Select this option if you do not wish to specify any material.
Note: If the CAD system (Package Designer) is not sent any material data, it is free to choose the material/sheet size it will use for optimization of the layout (die tool). For this purpose, the machines (and their max. sheet size) that are available in the print shop are stored in the CAD system. The default material filed in Package Designer is used if there are no defaults.
Tool ID
Enter the tool ID in this box. This item is also used as a name for the layout.
Sequence Template
Select the sequence template you want from the list box.
You can create a total of four variants. This is done in "Administration > Templates > Sequence Templates > Design Creation" (see also "DesignCreation" Sequence Template).
Basically, a difference is made between manual and automatic jobs.
Manual sequences (Manu1Up and ManuNUp) assume that the CAD request was started in the Cockpit and will be edited manually by a user.
In an automatic job (Auto1Up and AutoNUp), the files required (shape or layout) are created automatically through the Package Designer server.
