"ImposedPrint" Sequence Template
An "ImposedPrint" sequence lets you control the output of imposed layouts to a connected digital press. In contrast to a PagePrint sequence that places pages on the printing material interactively, an ImposedPrint sequence is designed for digital printing of PDFs containing imposed sheets. Accordingly, the placement options are not available in a digital print job if the job is based on an ImposedPrint sequence.
Prerequisite: The "ImposedPrint" sequence can be used in a print job only if a sheet layout was added to the job concerned. Without a sheet layout, you can only use the "PagePrint" sequence in a digital print job. In an automated workflow, we recommend adding an "AddLayout" sequence with a matching layout to the job.
The "ImposedPrint" sequence type is designed specifically for a mixed workflow with offset and digital printing. This means you can print sheet layouts prepared for offset printing also on a digital press, for example, to use the digital press as a page or imposition proofer.
It is also possible to print special layouts that have parameters that can be implemented only with a special imposition software with an ImposedPrint sequence in digital printing.
Note: You can configure a CTP device as an output device in the digital printing workflow also in an ImposedPrint sequence (see Points to note when CTP devices are connected).
The steps available in an ImposedPrint sequence vary according to which digital press or CTP device is available and set in the "on" list box. These changes affect the "Digital Printing" option in the "Print and finishing settings" tab.
Note: Generally, we recommend that you use a PagePrint sequence in the digital printing workflow for output to Versafire, Linoprint or Labelfire digital presses as well as to a CTP device.
