Cost Centers

Separate cost centers are required for each variant so that the production costs can be calculated depending on the machine configuration used (i.e. the machine variant). This is where you define these cost centers and assign them to the devices in the Device Assistant. Please note that you need to synchronize these cost centers with the connected Management Information System (MIS), if present. The following actions are possible with cost centers:

Defining a new cost center

1.Go to "Administration > Device configuration > Cost Centers".

2.Click "Create".

3.Enter a descriptive name for the cost center in the "Designation" field.

If a Management Information System (MIS) is connected to the Prinect workflow, you must here enter the name assigned to the cost center (also in the MIS). See also Standard designation.

4.If a Management Information System (MIS) is connected to the Prinect workflow, enter the cost center number assigned by MIS in the "Cost Center" box.

5.Assign one or more of the available device classes to this cost center. In this case, this cost center can be assigned in the Device Assistant of the Central Device Manager only to those devices that belong to the respective device classes.

To assign a device class to the cost center, highlight the device class in the "Available device classes" section and then click the "right" arrow. The device class moves to the lower "Allocated device classes" section. Repeat these steps for more device classes if necessary.

6.Click "Apply".

The changes are applied. The dialog box remains open. You can make any necessary changes here.

7.Click "OK" to complete editing.

The changes are applied and the dialog closes. The new cost center displays in the list.

8.To abort editing, click "Cancel".

The changes are not applied and the dialog closes.

Standard designation

You cannot edit the "Standard designation" text box.

The "Use standard designation" option

IconPrerequisitePrerequisite: This option is available only if you are editing a standard cost center or a copy thereof.

If this option is enabled, the cost center name will be "Standard". In other words, it is given an internal designation and not the one that was entered in "Designation".

If the option is disabled, the name you have typed is used.

Editing a Cost Center

You can change the designation or number of an already existing cost center. This is necessary, for example, if you have changed the cost center in your MIS. Proceed as follows:

1.Mark the cost center you wish to edit in the list.

2.Click "Open".

3.Edit the parameters as required.

4.Click "OK".

The changes are applied and the dialog closes.

Deleting a Cost Center

You can delete cost centers no longer required.

1.Highlight the cost center to be deleted from the list.

2.Click "Delete".

A security prompt displays.

3.Confirm the dialog with "OK".

The cost center is deleted.
