Privacy Policy | Imprint | Prinect Know How | Prinect Release Notes Administration - Dynamic Marks You can create your own customized dynamic marks in the Marks Inspector of the Prinect Signa Station software. Dynamic marks contain "placeholders" that are filled dynamically with data from the job during processing. Dynamic marks are based on the following pattern: $[Placeholder]. Some examples are: Mark Name: Mark Identifier Job name: $jobname $[jobname] Sheet ID: $[SheetID] Output Date: $[OutputDate] $[Date] ICC Proofer Profile: $[ICCProoferProfile] Folding Sheet ID: $[FoldingSheetID] Page Format: $[PaperFormat] Process Calibration Group: $[ProcessCalGroup]: Dot Shape: $[DotShape] You can set units for the data that will replace the placeholders in "Length Unit" and "Resolution Unit". Dynamic Marks at Prinect Signa Station In the Prinect Signa Station software, ready dynamic marks are included in the shipment for use with Prinect Production. At the Prinect Signa Station, you can define text marks in which you can combine different placeholders. Not all of these text marks are suitable for the JDF workflow as the placeholders may require data that is not yet known at the time the placeholders are replaced. Default and user-defined values The "Default Values" column lists predefined placeholder items for the dynamic marks. You can enter your own placeholder definitions in the "User-defined Values" column. These new definitions are then used for output. Using your own customized values may be useful, for example, if you use fonts on your system where the default values are not displayed correctly, e.g. Cyrillic fonts. You can use dynamic marks that are defined in Prinect Production in other imposition applications as well. What dynamic marks for what sequences? You can use all the dynamic marks defined in Prinect Production for the ImpositionOutput, ImpositionProof, ImposePDF and ImposedPrint sequences. You can use the "Slugline" option for dynamic marks values if you output by page, for example, with the "PageOutput" or "PageProof" sequences. •If possible, you should only use Type 1 fonts Helvetica, Times, Courier (incl. Bold, Italic). •The fonts must always be fully embedded (no subsetting). •Font Encoding should be MacRoman or WinAnsi. •The single marks within a "Text Show" command should not be separated by many blanks.

Note: It's essential that user-defined placeholders are defined in Prinect Production that is used for output if you are going to use such placeholders at the Prinect Signa Station. If they are not defined, the placeholders will not be replaced correctly. For that reason, we recommend that you only use the default values if you're planning to use the relevant layout templates on several Prinect Production installations.
Note: Take note of the following items for dynamic marks that you wish to use in Prinect Signa Station layout templates for a Prinect workflow:
Note: The Prinect workflow supports barcode fonts, e.g. "IDAutomationSHI25M" if present in Prinect Signa Station layout templates.
