Compared to other third-party machines that do not have a JDF/JMF interface, these machines can report certain information, such as which Printing materials are available on the Press, back to Prinect Integration. You can find out from the manufacturer of the respective press whether or not the machine has a JDF/JMF interface. In order to set up a digital press of this type, select the following settings when configuring the machine under "Administration > Digital presses": Vendor Select the entry "HEIDELBERG-JDF Engine Interface". Server Name If the Domain Name System (DNS) network service has been set up, enter the computer name of the "Digital Front End" server on which the press control software is installed in the "DFE server name" (Digital Frontend) input box. If no DNS has been set up, enter the IP address of the server instead. Port The port is part of the URL, i.e. the Internet address the press can be accessed with when connected to the Internet. It may be necessary to complete the "Port Extension" box. Normally, you can use the default setting for the port. Please contact your system administrator if a connection cannot be established with these settings. As a rule, you can view the port details in the user interface of the software that controls the press. URL The "URL" box is populated automatically and cannot be changed. The URL is made up of the server name of the DFE computer of the digital press and the port address: http://[server_name]:[port]. Connection test This is where you test if a connection to the digital press can be established using the specified URL when the "Connection test" button is clicked. The result of the connection test is displayed immediately in this box.
