More examples showing how to use attribution rules.

Example 1: Assignment of front and back sides from file name attributes

The situation: There is no information on the assignment of front and back sides in the PPF file. The file name has the following attributes:

A="front side"

B="back side"

AB=" front side (with perfector)"

In this example, an attribution rule is to be used to define the front/back side attribute for the PPF job and to convert the attribute "A" to "front", the attribute "B" to "back" and the attribute "AB" to "front". Proceed as follows:

1.Open the tab "Attribution rules" in the Configuration dialog of PPF Handler click the "plus" icon to create a new attribution rule.

2.Open a sample file.

4.Assign the snippet for the surface to the destination attribute "Page" with "Drag & Drop". The destination attribute is given the value "AB". This attribute must now be allocated to the values "Front" and "Back".

6.We will create the pattern in this example as follows: If the value complies with "B", change the destination value to "Back". Change the destination value to "Front" in all other cases (including "A" and "AB").

7.As result, the attribute "Page" changes to "Front" in this case.

Example 2: Supplement to the job name

The PPF file contains a job name describing only the product. The job name is to be supplemented by the job number now. This information is to be separated in the job name with an underscore.

1.Open the tab "Attribution rules" in the Configuration dialog of PPF Handler click the "plus" icon to create a new attribution rule.

2.Open a sample file.

3.Configure job number and job name as snippets.

4.Allocate the "Job number" and "Job name" snippets to the "Job name" destination with "Drag & Drop". The job name now includes both information items, separated with an underscore.

5.To insert an underscore and place it between the two values, click the "plus" icon next to the destination attribute and define an underscore as a separator.
