Use printing material data from the current job

As a rule, printing material data (size, grammage, paper type) that was saved in the machine data for the previous job is transferred to the machine for the print output of the repeat job. Printing material data from the MIS are ignored. This makes sense as the saved paper information, e.g. the printing material class, is related to and dependent on the dyeing characteristics and the fan data.

This procedure of using the machine data saved for the previous job for the repeat job is correct if the machine data originally used is to be applied again for printing the repeat job. However, if the printing material is changed at short notice for printing the repeat job, the original machine data must not be transferred to the press.

If the repeat job is to be printed on an Anicolor press, the dependency of the machine data on the color characteristic curves can be neglected.

If the original machine data is not to be used for printing the repeat job, a global setting can be made for the Prinect workflow so that printing material data is always transferred to the press used from the current job data and not from the machine data of the previous job. Proceed as follows to change this setting:

1.In the Prinect Cockpit, go to "Administration > System".

2.Highlight the name of the Prinect Server in the tree structure.

3.Scroll to "Central Device Manager" in the right part of the window.

4.Click the "Properties" button.

5.Enable "Take printing material data from current job and not from machine data".

6.Click "Apply".

For all repeat jobs that are submitted to the respective press after enabling this option, the printing material data from the repeat job and not from the saved machine data of the previous job is used.

A yellow triangle with the message "Printing material data will be taken from the current job" points out that the option is enabled. This warning is displayed in the "Print" step of the open repeat job when you select a print operation here and open the properties dialog with the "Properties" button. Here, the "Machine data" tab displays the warnings in the "Printing material data" area.
