Parameters that are valid only for CIP3 sheet previews

CIP3 data are saved in their own file format, CIP3-PPF. The extension is normally ".ppf". CIP3 data contain the following elements:

PostPress data

Control data for cutting and folding the printed sheets. This information is generated in the imposition software, e.g. Prinect Signa Station.

Sheet preview bitmaps for ink zone control of the press.

"ASCII Format" option

Here you can specify whether you wish to generate the CIP3 images in binary code or in the ASCII Hex Decode file format. We recommend that you select the faster binary code and do not enable this option.

"Compression" option

If "ASCII Format" is not enabled, you can enable this option so that the sheet preview data will be compressed. The file size of the CIP3 files is reduced by the compression.

"File Extension" box

This is where you can define the file extension for CIP3 files. Normally you should leave the ".ppf" setting as it is. You should change this setting only if a different file extension is expected by a device downstream in processing.

"Use FTP Output" option

You can file the generated PPF files on an FTP server from where they can be "fetched", for example, by a Prepress Interface software. To do this, you must enter the FTP address, the user name and the password. These files can also be used by machines that are not integrated into the system environment of the Prinect workflow.
