You can use the "AutoSheet" sequence in an automated workflow to assign document pages to page list placeholders of a sheet layout and afterwards to submit the imposed layouts to a sheet output sequence (ImpositionProof or ImpositionOutput) or to an ImposePDF, SendImposedPDF or SendBookletPDF sequence. In this process, sheet layouts can be added to the job automatically, for example, via an "AddLayout" sequence. The "Layout Preparation" option lets you add layouts that were created with the Prinect Imposition Editor to the job if you only need simple sheet layouts.
The following steps are available in the "AutoSheet" sequence template:
•"Layout Preparation" option
•"Automatic Sheet Output" Option
•"Detach for Ganging" option
"Accept approved pages only" Option
When this option is checked and the "Approve Page" option is also checked in the preceding sequences, the pages are assigned automatically to the sheet layout only if the pages have "Approved" as their production approval status. Processing stops if you try to assign pages that were not approved and an appropriate message displays.
You can set up that a layout created with the Prinect Imposition Editor will be used in the "AutoSheet" sequence if you enable this option. The Prinect Imposition Editor is an Acrobat plug-in that is installed with the Prinect Cockpit software as part of the Prinect PDF Toolbox. You can use the Prinect Imposition Editor to create sheet layouts in Acrobat and save them as layout scheme files (.jdf format). You can select such a layout scheme file with "Browse" in the "Use Prinect Imposition Editor Layout" box. These files must be filed in the "PTConfig" folder of the Prinect server. By default, the "PTConfig\SysConfig\Resources\ImpositionEditorLayoutTemplates" folder is set.
In an automated workflow, the pages that are sent to the "AutoSheet" sequence are assigned automatically to the page placeholders of the set layout scheme.
"Automatic Sheet Output" Option
In this step you can define when the sheet layouts will be submitted to the next sequence.
"Forward Whenever .... is Complete" list box
The sheet layout is submitted if one of the following conditions is met:
•when a layout is complete with pages,
•when a sheet is complete with pages or
•when the front or back of a sheet is complete with document pages.
Note: You must enable "Forward Whenever a Layout is Complete" if you wish to use the "AutoSheet" sequence in an automated workflow where the sheet pages are submitted to an "ImposePDF", "SendImposedPDF" or "SendBookletPDF" sequence. If you don't, the "Entire Layout in One File" option in the "Imposition" step will not be applied.
"Forward only when all Pages have been Approved" option
If you set this option, the layouts will be submitted to the next sequence only if all the assigned pages are marked as "Approved".
"Forward only when the Layout Part has been Approved" option
If you set this option, the layouts will be submitted to the next sequence even if only some of the assigned pages are marked as "Approved".
If you set this option, the sheets that are intended for ganging are not output with the sheet-processing sequence. Instead, the pages placed on the sheet are submitted to a sequence that processes pages in order for these pages to be then placed on a gang layout and output.
