Privacy Policy | Imprint | Prinect Know How | Prinect Release Notes When a print job is processed by a sequence in the Prinect workflow not only do you have the processed PDF documents or pages that generally run through the various sequences but you also have additional data that are created or copies of the processed data that are saved. In "Destination", you define how and where these data will be saved. This means that you can save, for example, the PDF documents processed by a sequence also as a side result. After the whole Prinect workflow has finished, you can then understand how a sequence processed the job data. You can specify the paths for the output files in the various Destination setups. In the path name box, the default setting for the output folder is "$Template". This is a variable that creates a folder with the name of the current Prepare sequence. The folder is created the moment a new job is created and this Prepare sequence is assigned to the new job. "Output is" list box This is where you define whether the data created as the "result" will be saved as an "intermediate result", as a "saved result", as a "saved side result" or as a "temporary side result". Data that are saved as a "Temporary side result" can be overwritten by subsequent sequences. The various result types differ as follows: •Saved result The resulting data are not overwritten by subsequent sequences, i.e. these data are filed as the "saved result". •Intermediate result The resulting data are saved but are processed by subsequent sequences and are released for overwriting after they are sent to the next processing stage. The two result types "saved result" and "intermediate result" are part of the "main track" of a Prinect workflow. In addition to the "main track" of a workflow, you can file the resulting data also in a "side track" as a "side result". This can be a good idea, for example, if you use two different "Prepare" sequences for processing a job; for example, one sequence with an enabled trapping function and one without. If you process the pages of a print job first with the trapping Prepare sequence, you can file the resulting data of this sequence as the "main track", e.g. as the "saved result". You can file the resulting data that are created by the Prepare sequence without trapping, for example, as a "saved side result". In this way, you can, for example, compare the influence of single functions with each other, in the example of the trapping function, or use the data for different output purposes. In the Qualify sequence you can save the following resulting data in "Destination": Pages section The PDF pages processed by the Prepare sequence are always filed in the default folder "PTJobs/Jobs/System/Pagefiles/Current". You cannot change this setting. "Store" list box You can choose between the following options: •Job internal The processed pages are filed in the "Pages" subfolder in the job folder. •Job external You can select a folder for filing the processed PDF pages in the file system of the Prinect server or you can create a new folder. In this case, copies of these page documents are created in addition to the "job internal" pages and filed in the folder you selected. "Approved Pages" group You cannot change the location of the approved PDF pages processed with the Prepare sequence. For that reason, you cannot use this group. "Preflight Reports" group "Store" list box You can choose between the following options: •Job internal The Preflight reports generated are filed in the "PTJobs/Jobs/System/Preflightreport" folder. These reports are used within the workflow. •Job external You can select a folder for filing the generated preflight reports in the file system of the Prinect server or you can create a new folder. In this case, copies of these reports are created in addition to the "job internal" preflight reports and filed in the folder you selected. You can use these reports for checking purposes outside the workflow. "Version Reports" group You can choose between the following options: •Job internal The version reports generated are filed in the "PTJobs/Jobs/System/Versionreports" folder. These reports are used within the workflow. •Job external You can select a folder for filing the generated version reports in the file system of the Prinect server or you can create a new folder. In this case, copies of these reports are created in addition to the job internal preflight reports and filed in the folder you selected. You can use these reports for checking purposes outside the workflow. "PDF Comparison Reports" group You can choose between the following options: •Job internal The PDF comparison reports generated are filed in the "PTJobs/Jobs/System/Comparereports" folder. These reports are used within the workflow. •Job external You can select a folder for filing the processed PDF comparison reports in the file system of the Prinect server or you can create a new folder. In this case, copies of these reports are created in addition to the job internal PDF comparison reports and filed in the folder you selected. You can use these reports for checking purposes outside the workflow. "Supporting information for gang jobs" group This is where you define a folder where you can file special details for gang jobs (e.g. preflight details) as PDF records. You must specify a folder here if you enabled the "Ganging" step. See "Ganging" option. No input is required if the Prepare sequence will not be used for gang jobs. "Store" list box You can choose between the following options: •Default Gang Pool The information files for gang jobs are filed in the default folder for gang jobs (default: "PTJobs/GangPool"). •Job external You can select a folder for filing the generated gang job information files in the file system of the Prinect server or you can create a new folder. In this case, copies of these reports are created in addition to the "job internal" preflight reports and filed in the folder you selected. You can use these reports for checking purposes outside the workflow. "Page Properties for Prinect Business Manager" group You can select a folder for filing the generated page property files in the file system of the Prinect server or you can create a new folder. "CAD Files" group You can select a folder for filing the generated Package CAD files in the file system of the Prinect server or you can create a new folder.

Note: When you are defining an automatic processing line, it is not possible to combine a "side track" sequence with the same kind of sequence (e.g. "Prepare") of a "main track".
Prerequisite: This list box can be used only if "Temporary side result" or "Saved side result" is selected in "Output is".
Prerequisite: You can use this group only if "Ganging" is enabled in the Prepare sequence.
Prerequisite: This group can be used only if Prinect Business is connected to Prinect Production.
Prerequisite: This option can be used only if Prinect Package Designer is connected to Prinect Production.
