"Split Document" option

Input documents are split into several PDF document parts when this option is enabled. This option affects job processing only if the print job has PDF pages of different sizes, for example, if several differently sized documents are selected by multiple selection and output via a PageProof sequence with "Scatter Proof". In this case, enabling the "Split Document" option makes sure that the document pages are positioned on the scatter proof sheet in their original sizes.

If "Split Document" is not enabled in such a case, each document page is positioned in a box whose size is derived from the largest page. This can result in large amounts of paper being wasted.

Splitting only makes sense for documents with several hundred pages. It leads to considerably slower processing times and, for that reason, you should only select it when splitting is absolutely necessary.

This is where you can select the DocumentSplitter engine that will be used to split the documents. Generally, you can use the default setting "AllDocumentSplitters".
