"Marks Replacement" option

Dynamic marks (see Dynamic Marks) are replaced by their current values if you enable this option. In this step you can also set up various options for the handling of marks during output.

"Content Check Preview for Inspection Control" option

During marks replacement, only those marks that are intended for Inspection Control are output if this option is enabled. Accordingly, other options in the "Marks Replacement" step that are not relevant for Inspection Control marks are dimmed.

"Draw Boxes" options

By enabling the Pages, Bleed, Paper, Sheet options, you can set that the related boxes will be output in the proof in the special spot color, "ProofColor". Clip paths can also be shown in "ProofColor" in the proof.

"Dashed" option

The boxes are drawn as dashed lines when you enable this option.

"Line weight" parameter

This is where you can set the line weight of the box lines.

"Draw Color Mark" options

You can choose between the following options for this:

​•​In Detail

In an overprint, the names of the separations "Cyan", "Magenta", "Yellow" "Black" and those of the spot colors (e.g. "Pantone 281 C" and "Pantone 300 CVU") are printed on top of each other in the respective color. This may make the names difficult to read.

Note: The names of the spot colors are not printed in detail and on top of each other but display as CMYK+1 spot colors if "In Detail" is enabled for proofing with more than five colors (e.g. CMYK + three spot colors). The effect of this is the same as if you had selected "Condensed (CMYK+1)". The "Proof Color" spot color is not included in this.

With up to five colors (CMYK + one spot color), output is still as you want it.

​•​Condensed (CMYK+N)

The color marks are identified only in "Black" by letters and digits to the effect that the process colors are identified by the letters CMYK and the number of spot colors used by the digit N (e.g. "CMYK+2" if four process colors and two spot colors are shown in the marks).

"Set ProofColor to Knockout" option

The "ProofColor" spot color is normally defined as being overprinting. In this process, ProofColor cannot be seen in dark parts of the image. "ProofColor" is set to "knockout" if you enable this option. As a result, this color can also be seen in dark parts of the image.

"Indicate Marks in Proof at Lower Area Coverage" box

Enter a value less than 100% in this box to output marks in the proof in a lower area coverage. As a result, the entire sheet layout is displayed in the proof, and proofer ink is saved at the marks.

"Convert ProofColor in Black-and-White Surfaces to K" option

This option is designed for the case that an imposition proof will be output in black-and-white only. If you enable this option, all the objects defined as "ProofColor" are converted to K so that the imposition proof does not have to be output in color.

"Replacement Font for Missing Marks Font" option

This option is designed for the case that a font defined in marks is not available on the Prinect server. The missing fonts will be replaced by the font you entered in the text box if this option is enabled.
