Privacy Policy | Imprint | Prinect Know How | Prinect Release Notes In this window, you can set up how to create a layout with the Prinect Signa Station Server – if necessary, with predefined product part templates. You can type the name of a new or of an existing layout. If the name of an existing layout is entered, it will be replaced by the newly created layout. You can also select a Signa Station product part template for the Layout. You can enter the name and number of page positions of a new page list or select an existing page list. •The master data (MDS) server must be specified and enabled in Prinect Signa Station. •Global preferences must be enabled. •The workspace must be on a network drive that can be accessed. Layout Name Enter the name of the new layout in this box. A layout is replaced if the layout name already exists. Product Part Templates This displays the existing product part templates. Select the product part template for the new layout. Search box You can use the search function to search the list of displayed product part templates by entering parts of the product part template name. "Create New Page List" option The following options are available for creating a new page list: •A new page list is to be created for the new layout. If you enable this option, you can enter a name and define the size (number of pages) of the new page list. •No new page list should be created for the new layout, but the new layout should be linked to existing page lists. In this case, do not set this option. In this case, all page lists that have not yet been assigned to a layout are displayed in the "Assign page list(s)" list (default setting). "Page list name" box You can enter a name for the new page list in this box if "Create new page list" is enabled. In this case, a new page list with this name is generated automatically and assigned to the layout after the layout is created at Prinect Signa Station. If a page list has already been assigned to the layout, it will be retained and the new page list will be assigned to the layout in addition. If this option is not enabled, you can assign one or more of the existing page lists to the layout. "Assign Page List(s)" Group If the "Create new page list" option is disabled, this area becomes editable and you can assign existing page lists to the layout here. The page lists are displayed as follows: •The "Show assigned page lists of other layouts and levels" option is not enabled: Only the page lists that have not yet been assigned to a layout are displayed. •The "Show assigned page lists of other layouts and levels" option is enabled: All page lists are displayed, regardless of whether they are already assigned to a layout or not. You can add page lists to the layout using "Add". The added page lists are displayed in the right-hand area. Similarly, you can use "Remove" to remove individual page lists from the combination. Remember the following items when doing so: •The page list positions (page placeholders of the page lists) must match the layout positions (page placeholders of the layouts), especially if you select multiple page lists. You cannot assign two page list positions to one layout position. •Versioning: If you work with versioning, you can assign a matching set of page lists to the layout per version. This means that one page list position can be assigned to a layout position for each version. "Show assigned page lists of other layouts and levels" option When this option is enabled, "Assign Page List(s)" shows you all the page lists, irrespective of whether they are assigned to a layout or not. This also applies in particular to versioned jobs (version layouts and levels). Button bar at bottom Button Function OK The settings are applied and the window closes. Cancel The window will close and all changes will be discarded. Import of versioned layouts with versions covering several product parts For special layouts whose versions cover several product parts, the page lists are generated per product part. Such layouts are used, for example, in book production. The page lists contain the name of the product part as a name component to tell them apart. In addition, the related product parts are taken from Prinect Signa Station. •If the page lists were assigned to the existing layout in an older Prinect version, whereby the layout replacement was carried out interactively. •If the data were taken from a predecessor job and the layout in the predecessor job contains page lists that were assigned using the old method. The page lists are imported taking into account the product parts if the data were taken from a predecessor job where the layout has page lists that were already assigned by the new method. In other words: The data are always taken from a predecessor job in the same way as done in the predecessor job.
