Privacy Policy | Imprint | Prinect Know How | Prinect Release Notes "Import Layout" window Open this window by clicking on the "Import" button in the "Imposition" step. Here you can import a layout and assign it to a job or to the product parts defined in the job. The "Select layout" window opens automatically immediately after the "Import layout" window has been opened. See "Select layout" window. Here you can select the desired layout in the file system of the Prinect server or in connected network drives. "Product parts" Group This is where you select the base or the product part to which you will import the layout. In non-versioned layouts, there is usually only one "end product". "File name" box The file name of the selected layout and the path in the file system are displayed here. Click this button to open the "Select Layout" window where you can then select the layout you wish to import. See "Select layout" window. "Layout name" box This displays the name of the selected layout. "Proof Layout" option The imported layout is used as a proof layout if you select this option. A proof layout is created exclusively for proof output and does not appear in the sheet view or in the separation view. Other than this, a proof layout is like a "normal" layout. It can be linked only to a proof sequence but not to a production output sequence. "Force unique sheet names in the job" option You can enable and disable the renaming of sheets with this option. See "Rename mode" list box. All the sheets are always renamed with this function. It is a good idea to rename the sheets especially if the layout you wish to import has at least one sheet name that is already in the job. In this case, the option is always enabled. In this case, a corresponding warning is displayed in the "Select layout" window. See "Select layout" window. "Sheet naming" Group This is where you select the rule that you will use to generate the new sheet names. •"Additional name & existing name": The "Additional name:" box is editable. Enter the additional name here, in this example "New-". This additional name and the old sheet name are combined to form a new sheet name. In this example, the following new sheet names are created: New-sheet1, New-sheet2, New-sheet3 etc. •"Old name & number": The "Start number" box is editable. Enter the starting number for the automatic numbering here, in the example "003". The old sheet name is extended with consecutive numbers, starting with the start number. In this example, the following new sheet names are created: sheet003, sheet004, sheet005, etc. In this example, note that the new consecutive number replaces the previous number in the old sheet name and is not appended. •"Additional name + number": The "Additional name" and "Start number" boxes are editable. Enter the additional name and the starting number for the automatic numbering here, in the example "New-" and "003". The new sheet names are generated exclusively from these expressions. In this example, the following new sheet names are created: New-003, New-004, New-005 etc. •"Number & Old name & Number": The "Start number" box is editable. Enter the starting number for the automatic numbering here, in the example "003". Each new sheet name is composed of the consecutive number at the beginning and end, and the old sheet name in the middle. In this example, the following new sheet names are created: 003sheet003, 004sheet004, 005sheet005 etc. In this example, note that the new consecutive number replaces the previous number in the old sheet name and is not appended. •"Number & additional name & number": The "Additional name" and "Start number" boxes are editable. Enter the additional name and the starting number for the automatic numbering here, in the example "New-" and "003". The new sheet names are generated exclusively from these expressions, with the consecutive numbers inserted before and after the additional name. In this example, the following new sheet names are created: 003New-003, 004New-004, 005New-005 etc. The previous number in the old sheet name is replaced and not appended. •"Layout name & number": The "Additional name" and "Start number" boxes cannot be edited. The new sheet names are composed of the layout name and a consecutive number, with the consecutive numbers always starting with 001. For example, if the layout name is "LayoutB1", the following new sheet names will be created: LayoutB1001, LayoutB1002, LayoutB1003, etc. "Start number" box Enter the starting number for the consecutive numbering here (see examples for renaming method). As mentioned in the examples above, you can also enter leading zeros (e.g. 003). The consecutive numbers are generated in ascending job, starting with the start number. The automatically generated numbers contain at least as many digits as the start number entered, i.e. leading zeros may be added (e.g. 004, 005, 006). "Additional name:" box Enter the "Additional name" here (see examples for the renaming method). "Create New Page List" option If this option is enabled, a new page list is automatically generated when the layout is imported, which contains exactly one page placeholder for each page position defined in the imported layout. If this option is not enabled, a page list is not generated for the imported layout. "Page list name" box The name of the new page list is displayed here. If necessary, you can change the page list name (the field is editable if the "Create new page list" option is enabled). "Assign Page List(s)" Group If the "Create new page list" option is disabled, this area becomes editable and you can assign existing page lists to the layout here. The page lists are displayed as follows: •The "Show assigned page lists of other layouts and levels" option is not enabled: Only the page lists that have not yet been assigned to a layout are displayed. •The "Show assigned page lists of other layouts and levels" option is enabled: All page lists are displayed, regardless of whether they are already assigned to a layout or not. You can add page lists to the layout using "Add". The added page lists are moved into the right-hand area. Similarly, you can use "Remove" to remove individual page lists from the combination and move them to the left-hand area. Remember the following items when doing so: •The page list positions (page placeholders of the page lists) must match the layout positions (page placeholders of the layouts), especially if you select multiple page lists. You cannot assign two page list positions to one layout position. •Versioning: If you work with versioning, you can assign a matching set of page lists to the layout per version. This means that one page list position can be assigned to a layout position for each version. "Show assigned page lists of other layouts and levels" option When this option is enabled, "Assign Page List(s)" shows you all the page lists, irrespective of whether they are assigned to a layout or not. This also applies in particular to versioned jobs (version layouts and levels). "Assign sequence(s)" Group "Sequence name(s)" box The name(s) of the assigned sequence(s) is/are displayed here. "Assign" button Click the "Assign" button to open the "Assign Sequence(s) to Layout" window. Select the sequence(s) with which you want to continue editing. See "Assign Sequence(s) to Layout" Window. Button bar at bottom Button Function Import The layout is imported according to the settings. Note: If a layout with the same name already exists in the job, the import cannot be carried out. Cancel The window will close without the import being executed. All settings are discarded.

Note: If necessary, you can change the layout name here.
Note: Renaming applies a rule that contains the sheet name and changes the sheet number (see below). The existing number is replaced with the new sheet number if the existing sheet name already has a sheet number where the new sheet number is to be inserted. This means that a new number is not added to an existing number.
Note: The "OK" button is dimmed if you generate sheet names that are already in the job. In addition, the inputs in "Start Number" and "Additional Name" are red.
