Note: Depending on whether you have the "Packaging" access permission as a Cockpit user, the terms "pages" are replaced by "1ups" and "page lists" by "1up lists". In the description below, only the terms "pages" and "page lists" will be used.
In comparison with a special imposition software such as Prinect Signa Station, Prinect Production offers a smaller range of imposition functions. If the Prinect Signa Station server is available, the Prinect Signa Station can be started interactively from the Prinect Cockpit in the "Imposition" step. You can then use the imposition functionality in the Prinect Cockpit in the following ways:
•Offline workflow:
The required layouts are created outside the Cockpit using imposition software, e.g. Prinect Signa Station or the Imposition Editor of the HEIDELBERG PDF Toolbox. The layouts are saved in a network folder that Prinect Production can access. The layouts can then be imported into the Prinect Production workflow.
•Interactive workflow:
The Prinect Signa Station can be started interactively from the Prinect Cockpit. You can then perform the following tasks in the Prinect Signa Station:
•Create a new layout
•Open and edit an existing layout.
•Replace an existing layout
•Automatically increase the number of sheets in a layout
•View a reader's spread of a layout
•Create a complete layout based on an MIS parameter set.
Once a layout has been created or edited, it can be used in the "Imposition" step.
To operate the Prinect Signa Station interactively, you must make the preparations described below.
