You can start the "Barcode & VDP Editor" on a PDF page with "Plug-Ins > Prinect 2020 > Barcode Editor" or by clicking the icon in the Prinect toolbar.

You use the Barcode & VDP Editor primarily to create barcodes and to place these on PDF documents using drag-and-drop. You can also replace or correct faulty barcodes.

Apart from that, you can create placeholders for variable contents (text, images or barcodes) that can be imported from data records.

Note: The marks, tagged "Prinect VDP Marks", are filed as PDF layers. They are visible in the "Layers" view of Acrobat. Acrobat shows the new layer only after the document has been saved and reopened.

You can copy text and barcodes and insert them at a different position. To do this, right-click the object and select "Copy" from the context-sensitive menu.

If you positioned placeholders, you can replace these by their dynamic content in the "PDF/VT" tab. You can check in advance whether all placeholders will be replaced by clicking the "Check" button. The dynamic placeholders are replaced by the set values when you click "Create". This produces the PDF/VT document. A replacement is not necessary in the Labelfire workflow. A document created this way is labeled iVDP. See "PDF/VT" or "iVDP" Tab.

In the toolbar, you will find some functions for editing the placed objects. Furthermore, you can select "iVDP Labelfire" as the output format there. See Toolbar and Context-sensitive Menu.
