Working with the PDF Compare Tool

1.The documents to be compared display in columns [1] and [2]. If you have several files open in Acrobat and then start PDF Compare, the left column [1] shows the current file and the right column [2] all other open files.

2.Click the "+" button [3] to add another file to the right column. You can also drag-and-drop the file to this pane.

3.Click the small "+" sign beside the file name to expand a preview of the single document pages.

4.In the left and the right column, mark the pages that you will compare with each other.

5.In the lower part of the window, you can view details about the colors of the first [1] and second [2] document. Using the check boxes on the left, you can select the separations that are to flow into the comparison. On the right, you can see which colors are found on the pages to compare.

You can save a report on the results of the comparison as a PDF file. After you click the button, you can edit various settings and select where the file will be stored. Besides this, you can define that not only the two currently selected pages will be compared but also a number of pages in the document. Select "Page Selection > All" and confine the pages to be compared for both documents. Make sure that the number of pages match.
To skip this step and save the report immediately, hold down the Shift key when you click the button.

"Autostart":

The "Autostart" check box improves communication between the Prinect Cockpit and Prinect PDF Toolbox. Prinect Cockpit features a PDF Compare engine that after Prepare compares the PDF with the original PDF stored in the "Documents\current" folder. The engine also generates a Compare report that you can open interactively in the Cockpit. You can open the PDF file from this report. For PDF Compare to open automatically in Acrobat, you have to enable the "Autostart" option.
