"Edit" Tab

In this tab, you can assign screen settings to different objects.

1.In "Default" select the screen from the list box that will be assigned first of all to all the objects in the document. You define which screen settings display in the list box in the "Settings" tab.

2.Enable the checkbox beside the object types to select a different screen for them.

3.After you click "Apply", the changes are applied to the document. The number of modified objects displays in the status panel.

 

If you wish to modify the screen only for selected objects, you can do this in "Selection":

1.Click an object in the PDF file.

2.Customize your selection, if necessary, using the buttons.

3.Select the screen setting you want from the list box. The screen of the selected objects is mod­ified immediately.

 

A more detailed description of the controls now follows:

 

Object Types

This is where you set the screen settings for a specific object type. Proceed as described above to do so.

 

Default

The screen setting selected in this box applies to all objects in the PDF document. In the "Settings" tab, you can define the screen settings that can be selected.

 

Text, Graphic, Image, Bitmap, Shading

You can select a screen setting that is different to the "Default" for these object types. To do this, enable the checkbox and select the screen setting you want from the list box.

 

From ... To

You can confine the impact of the Screening Selector to certain pages. The screen setting is modified only on these pages. See Specify a page range.

 

Remove

All screening data in the PDF document is removed.

 

Apply

All settings made in "Object Types" are applied to the PDF document.

Note: A batch mode is also possible if you click "Apply" and hold down the Shift key at the same time. This means that the settings are applied to any number of files in a folder. See Apply settings to several documents.

 

Selection

In "Selection" you can assign the screen settings for the marked objects.

Note: Your selection in this group does not affect what you selected in "Object Types" and in turn "Apply".

You can control selection of the objects using the buttons below. These affect only the page currently displayed and not other pages in the PDF document.

In this case, you must have selected an object first. Then all objects of the same color are marked when you click this button.

Screening data about objects must be available in this case, either already in the PDF doc­ument or screenings you assigned yourself. Click an object. Then all objects with the same screen are shown when you click this button.

The setting used for the selected objects is shown in the list box to the right. When you select a dif­ferent screen setting in the list, this modification is applied at once.

The screen setting assigned to the object is removed if you switch to "No Screening" in the list box.

 

Details...

Click "Details" to open the "Settings" dialog. You can view details about the selected screen setting in this dialog. You cannot make any changes here. See "Settings" Dialog.

 

Status panel

This shows you information about selected objects and any changes made.
