E-mail

In "Administration > Email > Email Notification", you can configure Prinect Shooter so that an e-mail is sent to up to four recipients if an error occurs during job processing. This e-mail contains a short text describing the error.

This feature enables you to react quickly to errors, even if there is no-one monitoring Prinect Shooter.

Setting the sender's address

In "E-mail address of sender", you assign the access data of an e-mail user to the e-mail function. This is where you must enter user data that allow e-mail access in the local system environment.

Note: Ask your system administrator for the correct way to enter details about the e-mail addresses.

"E-mail Address":

Enter a valid e-mail address in this box. Prinect Shooter uses this address as the sender's address. This information is necessary for the e-mail function.

"SMTP Host":

Enter the SMTP host through which you can send e-mails. This information is necessary for the e-mail function, because e-mails are distributed via the SMTP host. If you are not sure, ask your system administrator for assistance.

"SMTP Port":

Enter the port number used by the Outbox server in this box. If you are not sure, ask your system administrator for assistance.

"Use SMTP-SSL":

Enable this option if the Outbox server supports SSL encryption. If you are not sure, ask your system administrator for assistance.

"User name":

Enter the user name for the e-mail address. This information is not necessary for every e-mail account.

"Password":

Enter the SMTP password for the user name. This information is required for every e-mail account.

"Send test e-mail"

Check the data entered by sending a test e-mail to the user. Click "Send test e-mail".

Details about notification recipients

In the "Recipient" section you can enter the e-mail addresses of up to four recipients. As recipients, you can, for example, enter DTP users who print via Prinect Shooter.

Assign notification events

In "Events (Notifications)", you can assign different event messages to the four possible e-mail recipients. You have the following event types:

"Devices":

These errors are signaled by the relevant output device to Prinect Shooter during output and are sent as an email.

Example: If the cassette used by a platesetter is empty, a device error message is generated.

"Job abort":

An error message is generated and sent as an e-mail if job processing was aborted because of an error in Prinect Shooter.

"Drive monitor warning":

If the Alert value set for a drive monitored by the drive monitor was overshot, Prinect Shooter stops the processing of further jobs. This event can be sent as an e-mail.
