Device configuration - User interface
Filter
There are filters above each table in the Device configuration that you can use to filter the list by certain criteria.
Customize columns
You can freely define the table using the "Customize Columns" icon. This means that you define which columns (attributes) are to be displayed.
Flat or structured table
With the "flat or structured table" icon, you toggle between a flat and a structured table. A flat table shows all of the attributes at the same level. With a structured table, you can group the table by particular attributes. To configure the structured table, proceed as follows:
1.Click the "Flat or structured table" icon (1).
The icon will turn darker.
2.Click the "Customize Columns" icon (2).
The "Table configuration" dialog displays.
3.Customize the table in the "Structure" tab (3).
All attributes you selected are shown in the tree structure (4). The topmost attribute forms the first level of the tree structure.
4.Confirm your configuration with "OK".

Operation Groups (Cost Groups)
In an operation group, single operations (PDC messages) are combined to a group. For example, the "Makeready" and "Good production" operations are defaults in the "Production Time "group. The groups give you a better overview in the subsequent manual production data collection, for example, on the Data Terminal or on the Prinect CP2000 Center/Prinect Press Center. All operations (PDC messages) are also combined to operation groups (cost groups) there.
For synchronization of the two operation groups, see Synchronization of the PDC configuration with the press.

Creating a New Operation Group (Cost Group)
1.Go to "Administration > Device configuration > Operation groups".
2.Click "Create".
Note: Text boxes or list boxes marked with an * are mandatory fields. They must always be completed.
3.Enter the name of the operation group in the "Designation" input box.
4.The next available number is automatically entered in the "Number" box.
You can also enter a number of your choice. If you enter a number that has already been assigned, you cannot save the operations group. A corresponding note appears when saving.
5."Use standard designation" option
·This setting is possible only with default operation groups.
·If you enable this option, an internal designation set in the default configuration will display on the button and not the designation you entered.
·The designation you entered displays on the button if you do not enable the option. In this example "System".
6.Assign available operations to the group.
·Leave this setting blank if no operations are available so far. Define the required operations after you create the operation group. See Creating a New Operation (PDC Message). In addition, you can assign the operations of an operation group in these settings.
7.You next step is to assign device classes to this operation group in the "Device classes" tab. This means that this operation group is then only available on devices of the assigned device classes. For example only on "sheetfed press" devices.
8.Click "OK".
The operation group is saved in the Master Data Store (MDS) and displays in the list.
Editing an Operation Group (Cost Group)
This function is required if you wish to modify the designation, for example, or if you wish to assign/remove operations of an operation group.
1.Go to "Administration > Device configuration > Operation groups".
2.Select an operation group and click "Edit".
See Creating a New Operation Group (Cost Group) for a more detailed description of the settings.
Deleting an Operation Group (Cost Group)
You can delete an operation group if you no longer need it. This is the case, for example, if you have not assigned any operation to this operation group, nor do you intend to do so.
1.Go to "Administration > Device configuration > Operations groups".
2.Select an operation group and click "Delete".
In the Prinect CP2000 Center/Prinect Press Center operations are known as PDC messages and are grouped there as cost groups (operation groups). PDC is the abbreviation for Production Data Collection.
In operations, we differentiate between messages which are automatically generated by the press and messages which have to be set manually (manual shop floor data collection).
The operations defined on the Prinect Integration Manager can be assigned to each device individually. You assign the operations when creating a device in the Central Device Manager (CDM) on the Prinect Integration Manager. However, you can also assign operations to the devices which were already defined.
From a Prinect workflow viewpoint you need to consider that operations can also be defined on the printing press (Prinect CP2000 Center / Prinect Press Center) and in the Management Information System (such as Prinect Business Manager). However, these do not have to correspond to the operations created on the Prinect Integration Manager.

Procedure for Creating Operations (PDC Messages)
Note: As of Prinect Prinance 4.56 Patch 5, the operations are in line with Prinect CP2000 Center / Prinect Press Center. This means that no synchronization of the operations is necessary in the event of a new installation of Prinect Prinance, Prinect Integration Manager and Prinect CP2000 Center/Prinect Press Center in the customer's system.
In any other case we recommend the following procedure:
1.Define all operation groups. See Creating a New Operation Group (Cost Group).
2.Define all operations (PDC messages) in the MIS (for example, Prinect Prinance) and the Prinect Integration Manager.
Prinect Integration Manager: "Administration > Device configuration > Operations"
3.Do not create the devices on the Prinect Integration Manager until afterward, and assign operations to them.
4.Synchronize the operations of the Prinect Integration Manager with the operations of Prinect CP2000 Center/Prinect Press Center (PDC messages of the connected press).
See the Synchronization of the PDC configuration with the press for synchronization.
Deleting an Operation (PDC Message)
Note: You can only disable operations that can be changed (Icons "Changeable").
1.Go to "Administration > Device configuration > Operations".
2.Highlight the operation.
3.Click "Delete".
An alert message that you have to confirm displays.
Creating a New Operation (PDC Message)
1.Go to "Administration > Device configuration > Operations".
2.Click "Create".
Note: Text boxes or list boxes marked with an * are mandatory fields. They must always be completed.
The operation is made up of the following sections:
•Configuration of the button display (1)
•Configuration of the JMF content (2)
•Configuring operations (PDC messages) on the Data Terminal (4)
•Optional Settings (5)
•"Operation groups" Tab (Assign Cost Group) (6)
•"Device classes" Tab (7)
Configuration of the button display
Designation
In "Designation", you enter the button name of the operation (PDC message) as it appears in the Prinect CP2000 Center/Prinect Press Center.
Standard designation
You cannot make any entries here. The standard designation is automatically entered when you enable the "Use standard designation" option.
Use standard designation
If you activate this option, an internal designation is used. The designation you enter is ignored in this case.
Note: This function is possible only with default operations.
