When a print job is processed by a sequence in the Prinect workflow, not only do you have the processed PDF documents or pages that generally run through the various sequences or are output but you also have additional data that are created or copies of the processed data that are saved. In "Destination", you define how and where these data will be saved. This means that you can save, for example, the PDF documents processed by a sequence also as a side result. After the whole Prinect workflow has finished, you can then understand how a sequence processed the job data.
You can specify the paths for the output files in the various Destination setups. In the path name box, the default setting for the output folder is "$Template". This is a variable that creates a folder with the name of the current ImpositionOutput sequence. The folder is created the moment a new job is created and this ImpositionOutput sequence is assigned to the new job.
"Output is" list box
This is where you define how the data will be saved:
•Saved result
The resulting data are saved and can be processed further by subsequent sequences. However, they remain saved and are not overwritten by subsequent sequences. In "Imposition Output to File", "Halftone Soft Proof" and "Sheet Preview" you can select "Job internal" or "Job external" in the "Store" list box. By doing this, you define whether the saved data will be stored within the job folder or in an external folder not in the job folder. If "Job external" is set, you can select or create a folder in the Prinect server environment with "Browse".
•Saved side result
As a side result, the data are also saved out of the normal processing path. The data saved as a "side result" remain saved and are not overwritten by subsequent sequences, i.e. these data are filed as "backups".
"Imposition Output to File" group
In this group you define where the Tiff-B files that were created with a "Tiff-B export output device" will be filed. No data are generated in the folder for page output files if you selected an imagesetter that is directly connected.
We recommend that you set up a folder especially for the TIFF-B data on the Prinect server or on the computer that is processing the TIFF-B data. This folder must be shared. Since TIFF-B files are generally very large, make sure that this folder is located on a drive with enough free memory.
"Store" list box
You can choose between the following options:
•Job internal
The generated TIFF-B files are filed below the "PTJobs\Jobs" folder.
•Job external
You can select a folder for filing the generated files in the file system of the Prinect server or you can create a new folder. This can be a hot folder of a Prinect Shooter, for example, in order to enable further processing in an automated workflow. You can enter the path and name of the folder manually or use the "Browse" function to locate the desired folder.
"Halftone Soft Proof" group
This group can be used only if "Halftone Soft Proof" was set in the ImpositionOutput sequence. This is where you can define where the files for the halftone soft proof will be filed.
"Sheet Preview" group
This group can be used only if "Sheet Preview Generation" was set in the ImpositionOutput sequence. This is where you define where the sheet preview files will be filed.
"Name Rule" options
This is where you can select a rule for naming the output files of this sequence. The use of name rules lets you, for example, use certain data of the print job in the file names. The name rules that were defined in "Administration > Resources > Rules for File and Folder Names" display in the list (see Rules for File and Folder Names).
"FormOutput" Sequence Template
The "FormOutput" sequence is designed for imaging in a ROOM proof workflow. If you use the TIFF-B Export functionality to control an imagesetter using, for example, a Prinect Shooter, you have the option of using the ROOM proof workflow. In this case, the proof data are calculated from the screened TIFF-B data without having to run through a separate RIP process for proofing as is the case with an "ImpositionProof" sequence. In this process, the TIFF-B data are descreened, converted to contone images and output to the proofer. This process is known as a "ROOM" proof (RIP Once Output Many). Because the ROOM proof workflow is based on TIFF-B data, this workflow can only be used in an output where TIFF-B files are generated, namely in TIFF-B export.
Analog to the "FormProof" sequence, imaging in a ROOM workflow is controlled through the "FormOutput" sequence. The concept of the ROOM proof workflow is such that the "FormOutput" and "FormProof" sequences must be used together in a ROOM proof job. For that reason, you must always assign both sequence types to a job.
You will find more information about the ROOM proof workflow in "FormProof" Sequence Template.
You can configure the following options in a "FormOutput" sequence:
•"Accept approved input only" option
"Accept approved input only" option
When this option is checked and the "Approve Surface" option is also checked in the preceding sequences, the surfaces are output only if the they have "Approved" as their production approval status. Processing stops if you try to output surfaces that were not approved and an appropriate message displays.
