Assign > Assign Empty Page

You can use this function as follows:

Case 1: Before you assign the pages

Before you assign pages to the page list, you can reserve certain page list positions for blank pages. During page assignment then, these positions are not assigned pages, they remain empty.

In this case, select one or more page list positions you want and select "Assign > Assign Empty Page" in the context-sensitive menu. "Blank" will then be found at such a page list position. Any assigned layout will be adapted automatically, in other words the layout position turns blue there and is crossed out.

The blank page is skipped when document pages are assigned. Apart from that, the order of the document pages stays the same.

Example: Position 1 is a blank page in the page list. The first document page is then assigned to page list position 2, etc.

Note: You can undo the assignment of blank pages by selecting these pages and then clicking "Unassign" in the context-sensitive menu.

Case 2: After you assign the pages

You already assigned pages to the page list. Select one or more page list positions and select "Assign > Assign Empty Page" in the context-sensitive menu.

In the "Assign Pages" dialog, you will be asked whether you want to replace the page assignments. You can choose between "Yes", "No" and "Cancel". You must take into account the different scenarios here:

·All the selected page list positions have assigned pages:

"Yes": The previous page assignments are lost. Instead, all the selected page list positions will be assigned a blank page.

"No" / "Cancel": No blank pages are assigned. The previous page assignments are kept.

·Some of the selected page list positions have assigned pages and some haven't:

"Yes": The previous page assignments are lost. Instead, all the selected page list positions will be assigned a blank page.

"No": A blank page is assigned only to page list positions without a page assignment. Apart from that, all previous page assignments are kept.

"Cancel": No blank pages are assigned. The previous page assignments are kept.
