Administration - HEIDELBERG Cloud

HEIDELBERG Cloud

IoT Platform

In this setting area, you can check the connection status to the HEIDELBERG Cloud services and release special folders for access by the HEIDELBERG service.

IconPrerequisitePrerequisite: The connection status of your local Prinect system to the HEIDELBERG IoT platform is only displayed as "Connected" (green dot) if the connection to the HEIDELBERG customer portal and thus to the IoT platform is active. Information on connecting the local Prinect system environment to the HEIDELBERG customer portal can be found in the PMC Online Help. See Administration" > HEIDELBERG Connection view.

The connection to the "IoT platform" enables the HEIDELBERG service to access the folders defined under "Remote Service" (see below) via a secure Internet connection and to view or upload service-relevant data such as log files stored in these folders for analysis purposes.

Remote service

Here you can select the folders that HEIDELBERG Service can access at any time via a secure Internet connection. This access can be made without contacting an employee of your company, so that the regular workflow is not disrupted.

With "Add folder" you select the folder(s) in the Prinect server's file system in which the service-relevant data (log data, etc.) is stored. It would be useful to select the following folders, for example:

HD service/logs and

HD-Service/PTScout

This folder stores the files that the Service Scout creates when the "Data upload" option in the "Service Scout" window is not activated. See Data Upload.

These folders are created automatically during the installation of the Prinect system and should under no circumstances be subsequently deleted, moved or renamed.

In coordination with your local HEIDELBERG service representative, you can create additional folders for service purposes and add them to the list if necessary.

Using "Remove Folder" you can remove one or more selected folders from the "Remote Service" list and thus stop sharing the folders with the service.

"Gang Run Forms" tab

IconPrerequisitePrerequisite: The "Gang Run Forms" tab is only visible if the local Prinect workflow system is connected to the HEIDELBERG Cloud and if the creation of gang run jobs in the Cloud is licensed.

You can place different print products — even from different customers — on "gang run sheets" in the HEIDELBERG Cloud for joint processing in the Prinect workflow.

The "Gang run forms" tab lets you specify how these "gang run forms" are submitted from the Cloud into the local Prinect Workflow system.

Automatically create products in Prinect

Option "Automatic product creation active"

If you activate this option, new products are automatically created from certain MIS jobs in Cockpit. You define in the Prinect Cloud which products can be created in this way.

Transfer of gang run forms from the Cloud

You can select from the following options to transfer gang run forms from the Cloud:

Apply gang run forms automatically

The local Prinect workflow receives gang run forms automatically from the Prinect Cloud in.

Download gang run forms manually using the Ganging app

To submit gang run forms to the local Prinect workflow, you must open the Prinect Cloud Ganging app in the web browser on a computer having access to the JDF import input folder of the Prinect Production Server. There you can download the gang run form files into the download folder of the browser. The data must then be transferred to a JDF import hot folder. See "JDF Communication" tab.
