The device type you want to set up via Data Terminal determines, which Prinect modules you need: •For the Connection of prepress machines (e.g. CtP devices) you need Prinect Prepress or Prinect Integration. •For the Connection of Offset Presses (e.g. GTO52) you need Prinect Press or Prinect Integration. •For the Connection of postpress machines (e.g. Saddlestitchers) you need Prinect Postpress or Prinect Integration. For reasons of clarity, only the term "Prinect Integration" will be used in the following. The complete product name will only be used when one of the aforementioned Prinect Integration modules is mandatory. The Data Terminal is a way of connecting machines and manual workplaces that cannot be connected in any other way, so that production data such as working hours, operators, production quantities, etc. can be passed on to the Prinect workflow and an MIS. This means that job-related production data that have been entered manually can also be recorded and submitted for these machines. The Data Terminal can be used within the Prinect workflow for one or more devices as an input device for recording job-related production data. This allows you to record production data for workplaces which are not suited for automated or partially automated connection. Below, we give you an example of how to set up a Data Terminal device in Prinect Cockpit. For information about installation and operation of the Data Terminal, please refer to the separate manual.
