"Assigning operation groups" and "Assigning operations" configuration steps
In the next two configuration steps of the Device Assistant, select the operation groups and the respective "operations", i.e. the respective PDC messages (messages from production data collection). The operator can then select these operations at the Data Terminal and submit them to Analyze Point.
In the Cockpit, the operation groups and operations are defined in "Administration > Device Settings" and made available in the Device Assistant. See Action Groups (Cost Groups).
Operations are assigned for each function (operator, assistant and multiple operator) separately.
Device Assistant - Assigning user groups
In the "Assigning user groups" section, user groups are assigned to the functions. Only these user groups are allowed to log on to the Data Terminal device.
•An operator is at least assigned to the "*Operator" user group. For example, "PostpressOperator"
•The "*Assistant" user group must be assigned to an assistant.
•The "*MultiUser" user group must be assigned to a multiple operator.
Device Assistant - Creating variants
A variant is understood to mean a press configuration comprising individual modules. Depending on the device type selected before, different modules are available for compiling a variant.
In the case of the saddlestitcher, for example:
•Variant_1 consists only of the "Gathering" module.
•Variant_2 consists of the "Stitching" module and the "Three-knife trimmer" module.
•Variant_3 consists of the modules "Gathering", "Stitching" and "Three-knife trimmer".
Different variants are required in finishing in particular, depending on the type of job to be processed.
In order to calculate the production costs depending on the variant used, each variant is assigned its own cost center. The cost centers (see Cost Centers) have to be defined in advance and – if available – synchronized with the connected Management Information System (MIS).
Example:
•Variant_1 is assigned to the cost center "5300, saddlestitcher 1".
•Variant_2 is assigned to the cost center "5310, saddlestitcher 2".
•Variant_3 is assigned to the cost center "5320, saddlestitcher 3".
When you load a job at the Data Terminal, you must select the variant with which the job is being produced.
An operation can consist of the individual processes of gathering, stitching, inserting and cutting, for example. However, the selected variant only contains the "Stitching" and "Three-knife trimming" modules. An example of how the variant selection affects the processing of an operation is described in the "Working with jobs" chapter of the Data Terminal operating manual. See https://onlinehelp.prinect-lounge.com/App/App_pdfs/pdfs/Prinect_Data_Terminal_en.pdf.
You will find further information about variants at the following point: "Create variant" configuration step.
Device Assistant - Summary
In the last configuration step of the Device Assistant, you define the default values for "Default setup operation" and "Default operation for assistant" in the lower part of the window.
Explanation:
There are machines on which a login is not necessary in order to start an operation. Furthermore, activities performed on the machine do not necessarily have to be reported back manually. For example, the job can be loaded on the machine, the machine started up, and the job started without recording an operation (PDC message). For the evaluation, however, it is necessary that the "machine operator" and "status messages" operating data be recorded for each job. That is why you define operations (PDC messages) here which are always generated automatically when the activities carried out on the machine cannot be recorded manually.
"Default setup operation" and "Default production operation" parameters
These default operations are automatically pre-assigned and cannot be edited.
Standard operation for assistant:
Prerequisite: This parameter is only displayed if the "Assistant" function was selected in the "Function" list box in the "Assigning operations" configuration step.
This is where you can define which PDC message is automatically generated for a logged-in assistant if a user logs in to this device in the "Operator" function and loads an operation. The operation (PDC message) is also generated if the user logs off this device and logs on to another device in the "Operator" function. This means that the assistant is automatically logged in to the device and that logging out at the previous device does not have to be done manually.
"Job ticket" group
"Enable Extended Job Ticket" option
See "Enable Extended Job Ticket" option (1).
"Print" group
You can find information about the parameters of the "Enable print" option at the following point: "Enable Print" option (2).
"Print pallet sheet automatically after operation ends" option
See "Print pallet sheet automatically after operation ends" option (6).
You will find detailed information about creating pallet sheets at the following point: Creating a plate set sheet.
