Privacy Policy | Imprint | Prinect Know How | Prinect Release Notes "Product Description" Group The product description contains information that describes the basic properties of the print job. This information is usually assigned to the job during the job preparation phase – for example in the MIS, in an app of the Prinect customer portal, in a connected web shop, in the Prinect Signa Station or directly in the Cockpit. At this point, you can check the product description and change or add to it as required. Product Parts and Versions (left pane) For jobs that contain product parts (such as cover and inside pages) and/or versions (such as language versions), the corresponding information is displayed here. Product parts can be structured hierarchically, in other words product parts can in turn contain product parts. This hierarchy is displayed in the form of a tree structure. The top level of the hierarchy is referred to as the "End product". In versioned jobs, each product part can contain versions. Versions are always contained in the lowest hierarchy level. You can open the "Edit Products of" window by clicking on the "Product part" button or by selecting the context menu command > "Edit > Product part". In this window, you can define or edit product parts and versions. The master version is the basis for versioned jobs. The names of the versions are composed of the version-specific part and the name of the master version. The following situations can be distinguished here: •Imaging plates with a versioned layout that has been produced with Prinect Signa Station: The print sheet with the layout of the base version, i.e. the version that is the same for all version components, is always printed first. A complete set of printing plates, consisting of the separations C, M, Y and K, for example, is imaged and printed from this print sheet. The printing plates for the versioned parts, i.e. the parts that differ from version to version, are then imaged. If the versions differ in the text parts, these are often K separations. These printing plates are swapped at the press for printing the versioned parts. The "version-specific" property and the assignment to a specific version are assigned to the colors in the "Jobs" area in the "Colors" section. The "Output (every version)" parameter is set in the "Colors" section, under the "Target" property. See Destination. •Prepare sequence, "Versioning" option: To be able to use the "Versioning" option in a prepare sequence, a master version must be defined in the job settings. See "Versioning" Option. A separate master version can be defined for each product part. Where can I define a master version? •In the Prinect Cockpit: In an open job in the "Edit products of" window. See "Edit Products of" window. •In Prinect Signa Station: It is possible to create different product parts that each contain their own master version. The master versions can also be identical, i.e. you can have two product parts with the same language master version – e.g. "English".

Note: In the "Edit Products of" window, you can edit the product parts or versions in the currently selected hierarchy level. To edit a different hierarchy level, select the corresponding product part in the left-hand area and open the "Edit Products of" window again. The window caption always displays the name of the product part whose elements you are currently editing. See "Edit Products of" window.
Note: If the "Versioning" functionality is not licensed, no version-specific input fields are displayed in the "Edit Products of" window.
If a versioned layout created with the Prinect Signa Station is used in the job, the master version is the version that is located on the first print sheet variant and on the first folding sheet. This definition is adopted when the layout is imported into the Prinect Cockpit.
