Layout selection

The sheet layouts contained in the job display in the left area of the window. You must select a layout for planning here to be able to use the Planning Assistant efficiently. The layouts that have already been fully planned with the Planning Assistant are identified by a different symbol than the layouts that have not yet been planned:

Planned layout

This tag is assigned in the following cases:

If the planning changes were confirmed with "Finish" after planning has been completed.

When you select a different layout and confirm "Save changes?" after planning your layouts in the Planning Assistant. As you do not have to close the "Planning Assistant" window after completing or confirming, you can plan all the layouts you need without leaving the Planning Assistant.

Unplanned layout

Unplanned layout refers to all layouts that were not yet planned with the Planning Assistant.

"Customize process network" option

"Process network" refers to a combination of print jobs, sheets or sheet layouts and sequences. Consequently, sheets or sheet layouts and matching sequence templates must be assigned to the job. You can view and/or edit these elements in a job in the "Processing" step. See "Processing" Section.

The "Customize process network" option has different effects depending on where changes are made to the process network:

Case 1:

In the Planning Assistant, you can manually select machines, machine variants or sequences. By doing so, you modify the process network. Manual inputs in the Planning Assistant are always taken into account when setting up a planning. The process network is automatically adjusted accordingly, i.e. the "Customize process network" option has no effect on manual inputs.

Case 2:

Outside of the Planning Assistant (MIS, job settings), changes are made to the job parameters that affect the process network. In this case, "Customize process network" works as follows:

"Customize process network" is enabled:

Changes affecting the process network are included in the new plan. Example: A layout change makes it necessary to use a different folding machine. If the option "Customize process network" is enabled, the new folding machine is included in the planning process. The adapted process network is shown in the "Processing" area of the open job.

"Customize process network" is not enabled:

Changes affecting only the process network are not included in the new plan. It may happen that, for example, changed delivery quantities or allowances are taken into account for planning purposes, but no changes are made to the process network.

"Recalculate amounts" option

The "Recalculate amounts" option has a different effect depending on where the delivery quantity for the job is defined:

Case 1:

The delivery quantity is entered in the "Delivery quantity" step in the Planning Assistant.

Manual inputs in the Planning Assistant are always taken into account when setting up a plan. In this case, the amounts and allowances are recalculated based on the delivery quantity that is entered. The "Recalculate amounts" option has no impact in the case of manual inputs.

Case 2:

The delivery quantity was planned or modified outside of the Planning Assistant, for example in the MIS or in the job settings.

In this case, "Recalculate amounts" affects the calculation of the amounts. The new or modified delivery quantity displays in the "Delivery quantity" planning step.

The "Recalculate amounts" option is enabled: All quantities (not just the delivery quantity) are recalculated due to the changed delivery quantity.

The "Recalculate amounts" option is not enabled: The changed delivery quantity displays in the "Delivery quantity" planning step. If you have to recalculate the amounts because another machine was selected or the allowances were edited manually, quantities are recalculated based on the original, unchanged delivery quantity.
