"Layout settings" tab for ImposedPrint sequences with Jetfire 50 or toner-based digital presses (HEIDELBERG Versafire).
The following layout settings are possible for sheet-fed printing output with ImposedPrint sequences:
"Remove all Marks" option
For print output, all dynamic marks are removed from the layout used if you enable this option.
"Output" Group
"Output of" option
The "Split into" option will be disabled if you enable this option.
This where you can choose the type of output with the ImposedPrint sequence:
•Pages
Printing occurs as page output, i.e. the layout is modified so that the page contents are adapted to the paper format. The option "Extend bleed by" is operable only if this option is selected.
•Sheet
Printing occurs as sheet output, i.e. the imposed sheet layouts are output together with the folding scheme and the defined marks (if the "Remove all marks" option is disabled). The dimensions of the sheet layout are matched to the paper format.
•Template
Printing occurs as "template output". The dimensions of the template are matched to the paper format.
A "template" also describes press parameters such maximum paper size, gripper margin, lead edge, and print start. The template is responsible for ensuring that printing occurs within the printable area of the press. The template is equivalent to the press sheet without the folding sheet, i.e. also without the folding scheme and any marks applied subsequently.
"Output Sheetwise" option
Each sheet is printed as a separate job if you check this option. Output of all press sheets is merged into one job if this option is not enabled.
Caution: You should never enable this option for Jetfire 50 digital presses as these machines automatically perform a cleaning process on the inkjet print heads after each print job. The same recommendation also applies to the "Split into" option.
The "Split into" option will be disabled if you enable this option. In this case, entire sheets are not output, but the layout is split into single or double pages each.
The following options are available:
•Single Pages
If the layout to be output contains several single pages or 1ups, the layout is split such that only single pages are output.
•Double Pages
If the layout to be output contains several single pages or 1ups, the layout is split such that only single pages are output.
"Extend Bleed by" Option
Prerequisite: You can enable this option only if the "Split into" option is enabled, or if the "Pages" selection is set when the "Output from" option is enabled.
Here you can choose the bleed extension for page output. See also "Bleed" and "Trim Allowance" group.
"Include Print Margin" option
You can define a print margin to be considered for output if you enable this option.
"If paper too small" group
This is where you can specify what will happen if the paper format is smaller than the sheet or page format:
•Cancel
The job is aborted.
•Trim
The sheet or page format is trimmed so that the content is printed in its original format. This option should only be selected if the paper size is slightly smaller than the sheet or page size.
•Zoom Out
The sheet or page contents is scaled to fit the paper format.
