"Move Page List Position(s)" Window

IconPrerequisitePrerequisite: To open this window, you must activate the "Page lists" or "Show page list assignment" view. See Changing views.

You can open this window by selecting one or more page positions and then clicking on "Move positions" in the context menu.

The functions in this window allow you to move page placeholders (positions) within a page list to a different position. You can select multiple items, i.e. you can move several page positions at the same time. You can only move page positions to new positions, i.e. to positions that are not yet in the page list.

"Positions" parameter

The number(s) of the position(s) in a page list that are to be moved are displayed here.

"First new position" box

Enter the number of the first new position to which the selected position(s) is (are) to be moved. If several positions were selected when the window was opened, specify the position of the first page placeholder after the move here. You can only specify new target page positions for the move that do not yet exist in the page list.

If the page list contains page positions that are numbered consecutively without gaps before the move, the first position after the move is appended to the last existing position number.

Example: The page list contains 36 page positions, numbered from 1 to 36. If you select positions 1 and 2 to be moved and the number 52 is entered as the "first new position", positions 1 and 2 will be moved to positions 52 and 53. Position 52 is placed immediately after position 36. After the move, the page list therefore contains the positions 4 – 36, 52,53.

"Preview" Button

Clicking this button shows the numbers of the page positions in the "Preview" field after the set position move for checking purposes.

IconNoteNote: If target positions have been specified for the move where page positions already exist, a corresponding message will be displayed and the move will be rejected.

"Preview" box

The numbers of the page positions after the defined move are displayed here before the move is actually carried out.

"OK" button

IconPrerequisitePrerequisite: You can only confirm the window with "OK" if the "Preview" button has been pressed and the move has not been rejected.

The specified move will be executed and the window will close.
