Privacy Policy | Imprint | Prinect Know How | Prinect Release Notes A cumulative update contains a collection of individual product updates interdependent with regard to updating. A cumulative update will not raise the master version of the Prinect software as is the case with a system upgrade. For this reason, a cumulative update does not require new version licenses. As a rule, cumulative updates are provided more frequently than product upgrades. HEIDELBERG compiles the selection of update packages, depending on the updates available for the Prinect computers managed by the PMC. For example, if a system contains a dedicated License Server computer, that computer receives the License Server software update, while the other computers within the system receive other Prinect updates. Cumulative updates are run with an Update Assistant, similar to system upgrades. For this reason, the procedure for installing a cumulative update is similar to the procedure for a system upgrade. Although these update processes differ in some details, there are only minor differences. Therefore, we refer to the corresponding description of a system upgrade installation. See Installation using the System Upgrade Wizard. If a cumulative update is available, a corresponding banner appears in the detail area where you can start the Installation Assistant. In addition, the banner shows which cumulative update was last performed.
