The "Layer" column shows you which effect is assigned to these. You can change an effect by right-clicking it. Alternatively, you can also use the list boxes [7]. By setting and removing the checkmarks, you can select whether a layer will display in the view or not. The order in which the color separations are listed in the table defines the order in which they are applied. The topmost color separations are printed first. These are mainly the process colors. The effects then follow after that, like varnish. The lowest layer is applied the last and, as a result, lies on top of all other ones in the preview. You can change the order with the following buttons: By doing this, you change the order of the color separations in the table. Mark the color you want and move it up or down using the buttons. These are, from left to right: "to the top", "one step up", "one step down" and "to the bottom". Effect list boxes [7] Mark the color separation that will be assigned an effect and select the effect from these two lists. In the first list, first select the type of effect: •Color Printing •Monochrome Printing •Varnish •Special Ink •Foil •Embossing •Braille •Ignore Height/Depth For "Embossing", you can set the depth of the recess or the height of the raised pattern. To do this, you select a unit and enter the number in the box or you use the slider. Material In "Material", you define how the substrate will be visualized. You can select the material from a selection of predefined materials and set its thickness. Group Select the type of material in this section. The following options are available: •Folding carton board •Corrugated board •Inverted corrugated board •Plastic foil •Corrugated plastic board Name Set the exact name of the material. The selection options differ according to the material group selected. Thickness This displays the material thickness. Finishing In this group you can set further finishings that will be applied to the paper after printing. Background You can set a coated or uncoated white liner or a cold foil as a background. Lamination You can laminate all of the material with a matt or glossy silk sheen. Ambient Reflection Image This is where you can change the ambient image that is reflected on the surface. Click the button with the three dots and choose an image file. Ideally it should be a spherical image.

This separation is not assigned an effect but is printed to the material as a process color.
The color is opaque when displayed. You can set a different color for display purposes by clicking the color box.
The separation is equivalent to a varnish job. You can select the gloss in the second list box: "Gloss Varnish", "Dull Varnish" or "Satin varnish".
The separation is applied with a color that has special effects, for example, gloss metallic or neon. For "Neon Color", you can set the color in the "Properties" tab.
The separation is bonded with a glossy film. This can have a slight surface structure or be extremely smooth and mirroring ("Flat foil"). For "Colored foil" and "Colored flat foil", you can set the color in the "Properties" tab.
Embossing can be seen in three dimensions in the preview. The patterns can either be raised ("Embossing") or recessed ("Debossing").
This effect makes braille visible in three dimensions, for example, on medical packaging.
This separation does not display in the preview.
