Mode "Place part"

"Place part"

The mode "Place part" lets you add any 1up as layout element.

To start the mode, click the "Place part" button in the toolbar. The edit bar shown below appears:

A preview of the 1up to place (blue lines) appears when you move the mouse pointer on the canvas. Click the desired position to place the 1up.

The "Place part" mode offers the following controls:

Part

In the list box, choose the 1up that you want to add.

Article

(Only visible if different content is present)

Here you can choose the image that is to fill the 1up if you added different content in Prinect Signa Station.

Angle

Specify a rotation angle for the 1up to add here.

"Select snap control point"

The snap control point identifies the point where you grab the 1up with the mouse. A black cross identifies the snap control point in the 1up preview. By default, it is in the bottom left corner of its imaginary surrounding box.

Click this button if you want to change the position of the snap control point. You can now choose the snap control point inside or outside the 1up. You have to repeat this action for each part that you add.

You can also keep the Ctrl key pressed to choose a different snap control point.

Detect Edge Collisions

With this option, you prevent that new 1ups you place collide with existing ones. The new 1up snaps in at the edges.

If "Detect Edge Collisions" is enabled, more buttons for finetuning the placement become visible. You can also enable several buttons simultaneously.

Detect Edge Collisions by Bleed

The new 1up can only be placed in such a way that bleed areas do not col­lide.

Use Sheet Border as Placement Barrier

The new 1up cannot be placed outside the sheet.

Use Placement Snap Points

Gap

This is where you specify a value for the gap the new 1up must keep to the other 1ups. In this case, it is impossible to move it closer to the other 1ups.
