System

In "Administration > System", you can view the following settings of Prinect Shooter:

License Server

"License Server" shows the computer name of the License Server that makes the licenses for Prinect Shooter available. Normally, the License Server is defined during installation of the Prinect Shooter software. However, if the License Server is to be located on a different computer or if the computer name of the License Server is changed, a modify installation of the Prinect Shooter 2 setup is required. You should change the computer name before you disable the old License Server. After you modify the License Server, exit the Prinect Shooter services with "Service Control". Afterwards, make sure that the new License Server is running and can be reached in the network and that the required licenses are assigned to the Prinect Shooter computer (in the License Manager). After that, restart the Prinect Shooter services.

Temporary Folder

Prinect Shooter uses the temporary folder to buffer data that are created during job processing.

Configuration spool directory

All the job data created temporarily during processing are buffered in the configuration spool directory. This buffer action is known as "spooling". The spool directory contains the data of all the jobs in the job list. This includes the data of finished jobs that are not yet removed from the job list. Because the TIFF-B files can be very large, the spool directory should be located on a drive of the Prinect Shooter PC that has enough available memory. You can check the available memory of each of the drives on the Prinect Shooter PC in the drive monitor. See Drive Monitor.

Hot Folder default root directory

This is the default directory for hot folders. This means that hot folders are created as subfolders of this root directory. By defining the "Hot Folder default root directory", you set that this hot folder path will be used by default for the virtual printer when you create a new virtual printer. You can define a local directory or a shared directory in the network neighborhood as the hot folder default root directory. Because hot folders are used to transfer TIFF-B files, you must make sure that the drive on which the hot folders are located has enough available memory.

Pause Jobs after restarting the server

If this option is set, all jobs that are still to be processed are set to "paused" when you reboot the computer. This setting applies to all jobs.

Check whether there is sufficient material when starting jobs

This is where you specify whether the material stock is to be checked before starting jobs.

MCL usage: Bring forward other jobs if there is not enough plate material for the next job.

A special mode for defining the order of processing was introduced for Prinect Shooter with Suprasetter MCL (Multi Cassette Loader). In this mode, the plates loaded to the various trays of the MCL are used up as far as possible without an operator having to be on site. This "night mode" is done with the "MCL usage: Bring forward other jobs if there is not enough plate material for the next job" option. This gives you optimal utilization of the loaded plates.

Serial, sorted output via FBDI workflow

FBDI jobs are always output one after the other in their correct order if you check this option.

Prerequisite: This option works only if the FBDI protocol is used (workflow system or third-party RIP).

A processed job cannot be interrupted by other jobs, except for when "Urgent" is assigned as the priority. For that reason, the job is normally fully processed before another job can be output. This ensures that the plates of a job are output together in their correct order.

Note: This option is a basic workflow setting and should be set once directly after Prinect Shooter first starts in the Java-based UI.

Depot Directory

This is where you can specify the directory where the jobs will be filed if no depot directory is set in the job itself. By default, the default Depot Directory is used. See "Job Depot" List.

If you enable the option "Always ask", a dialog where you can define the depot folder appears each time a job is to be filed.

Exposure Repetition

If the option "Pause Jobs before Reprint" is enabled, all jobs that are still to be processed are set to "paused" when you trigger a reprint. These settings apply to all jobs.

Note: Note that this option influences the reprinting of single separations. See Reprinting Jobs or Single Separations.
