The following steps must be performed so that the job can be processed by a Management Information System and a prepress system of Prinect Integration Manager/Prinect Pressroom Manager and submitted to the machine:
1.The Prinect Cockpit must be started.
2.A machine must be connected via the "Central Device Manager" (CDM).
·Connecting a Prinect Press Center Press
·Connecting a Prinect CP2000 Center Press
·Online Connection of Postpress Devices
·A corresponding sequence and a corresponding process (PPF import configuration) will be created automatically after the creation of a press.
3.The automatically created sequence for the previously newly created machine may have to be adapted.
You define what is to happen with the imported data in the sequence. For example, in the "SheetfedPrinting" sequence, generation of a sheet preview, calculation of the ink zones, calculation of the ink consumption, and on which connected printing press the job should be printed. The various sequences are described in detail in the section General Information about Sequence Templates.
4.The automatically generated process (PPF import configuration) for the previously newly created machine may have to be adapted.
The Prinect Pressroom Manager/Prinect Integration Manager needs to know where your prepress system saves the PPF/CIP3 files. A target directory ("Hotfolder") is defined via the PPF import configuration. This automatically allocates "incoming" PPF/CIP3 files to the job generated from the JDF/JMF file.
You can find a detailed description in the section PPF Workflow — General. The PPF import configuration described there only applies to a PPF workflow. Some attributes have to be configured differently in a JDF-PPF workflow. These changes will be pointed out at the appropriate place in this chapter.
5.JDF import must be configured on the Prinect Pressroom Manager/Prinect Integration Manager.
Without a JDF/JMF target directory, you cannot process a JDF/JMF file. After all, the Management Information System has to know where it must store the generated JDF/JFM file.
6.The JDF workflow must be configured on the Management Information System.
If you use Prinect Prinance in your Prinect workflow, the Prinect Prinance JDF connector must be configured accordingly.
7.The allocation of cost centers between the Prinect Management Information System and the Prinect Pressroom Manager/Prinect Integration Manager must be configured.
8.The master data and the SFDC messages must be synchronized between the Prinect Management Information System, Prinect Pressroom Manager/Prinect Integration Manager and press.
9.You must define whether the job is to be processed automatically or manually.
10.You must define whether the job is to be forwarded in advance.
11.The job list must be configured.
