Pages View

In the Pages view, you can submit pages specifically to one sequence, open a page preview or view the processing stage of the pages.

Columns in the Pages view

Column

Function

Name

Displays the page name.

Gang Job

Displays the gang job name. You can open the gang job with a double click.

Layout in Gang Job

Displays the layout name on which the gang job will be produced.

Sheet in Gang Job

Displays the sheet name on which the gang job will be produced.

Knockout Colors

Displays the existing knockout colors.

This is important for pages that lie at the top of a layer stack and can knock out objects lying in the background, something that you cannot tell from the page (without the background). It provides important information for plan­ning a versioned production.

Status in Gang Job

Displays the processing state of each of the pages in the gang job.

Source Job Number

Displays the number of the job (source) from which the page was copied.

Place the mouse pointer on the source job number and wait for it to turn into a "hand". Then open the source job with a double click.

No. in Page File

Displays the number the page has in the PDF file.

Page Colors/1up Colors

Displays the names of the colors in the page (e.g. C, M, Y, K and any spot colors).

Type

Displays the PDF type.

PDF Format

Displays the PDF format the file was created in.

PDF/X Details

Displays details about whether or not there is a PDF/X format. You can find more information in the Preflight Report.

Assign Count

Displays how often the page was assigned to one or more page lists.

Assigned Page Lists/1Up Lists

Displays the page lists that the pages are assigned to.

Page Positions

Displays the name and position in the page list that the page was assigned to.

Proof Status

Displays the proof status as an icon.

Preflight Status (Qualify)

Shows the preflight status of the single jobs for the Qualify sequence. A successful run is marked by the following icon:

 

Preflight Status (Pre­pare)

Shows the preflight status of the single jobs for the Prepare sequence. A successful run is marked by the following icon:

Note: The icon is the same as for the preflight status of the Qualify sequence but has two red ticks.

Production Approval Status

Displays the production approval status. You can read the approval status from the symbols.

The following options are possible:

Note: The job automatically moves on to the next sequence with "Approved".

Production Approval Comment

Displays any production approval comment entered in the "Approval of Selected Elements" Window.

Customer Approval Sta­tus

Displays the customer approval status as symbols.

The following options are possible:

Customer Approval Comment

Displays any customer approval comment entered in the "Approval of Selected Elements" Window.

Modification Date

Displays the date and time of the last change to the document.

Trim Box Offset

Displays the offset in x and y direction by which the trim box is shifted in relation to the media box.

Trim Box

Displays the trim box data (starting position of the corner and size).

Media Box

Displays the media box data (starting position of the corner and size).

Rotation

Displays by how many degrees the page was rotated counterclockwise in the layout.

Scale

Displays the scale used to display the page on the layout.

Status

Displays status messages.

Stage

Displays the current stage

Product

Displays the product names.

Version

Displays the version names

PDF Page Number

Displays the PDF page number.

Comment

Displays the comment entered in the "Comment" window with the name of the author.

Article Number

Displays the article number.

Shape ID

Displays the shape ID.

Shape Name

Displays the shape name.

File name

Displays the file name.

No. of Records

Displays the number of data records to check (for PDF/VT documents) (see also "Maximum number of data sets to preflight in a PDF/VT" parameter)

Dynamic Columns

Depending on your job, there are dynamic columns for sequences.

Note: The digital outputs created by a sequence are shown here and can be opened, if necessary, with a button.

Function

Assign

Click "Assign" to display the "Assign Pages" window (see also "Assign Pages" Window).

Unassign

Click this button (F8 key) to undo the assignment of one or more selected pages. The selected pages are removed from "all" positions in the relevant page lists.

Note: You can also select this function in the context-sensitive menu after right-clicking in the "Page Lists" view mode screen.

Continue

Click this button to open the "Continue Element Processing" dialog (see also the "Continue Element Processing" Window).

Submit

Click this button (F12 key) to display the "Submit Elements" window (see also the "Submit" window). This button is only enabled if at least one page is selected.

Note: You can also select this function in the context-sensitive menu after right-clicking in the "Pages / 1ups" view mode screen.

You can also "submit" by dragging and dropping pages to the appropriate sequence in "Submit to".

Close Job

Click this button (or use shortcut Ctrl + W) to close the job and return to the "Jobs" window with the list of jobs or job groups.

Note: You can also select this function in the context-sensitive menu after right-clicking in the "1ups" view mode screen.

Open

Select "Open" (shortcut Ctrl + O) if you wish to view the page with Adobe Acrobat.

Note: "Overprint Preview" must be enabled in "Advanced" in Adobe Acro­bat to be able to view the "real" print simulation. This function is disabled by default because it can slow down displaying the preview considerably if it is enabled.

The "Continue Element Processing" window also appears at the same time if "Plug-in enabled" is checked in "Acrobat" in "Administration > Settings > Preferences > Local Settings" (see also "Continue Element Processing" Window).

Browse

Select the "Browse" function (shortcut Ctrl + B) to open the folder of the Prinect Integration Manager server where the current job is located.

Continue

Select "Continue" to continue processing pages whose status is "Needs Attention".

Submit

Submit to Ganging

See also "Submit to Ganging" window.

Assign > To Product

A window in which you can assign a product to the sheet displays when you select "Assign > To Product".

Assign > To Page List

See also Button bar in the "Pages" view, "Assign" button.

Unassign

See also Button bar in the "Pages" view, "Unassign" button.

Change Page Geometry

Select this function (shortcut Ctrl + M) to open the "Page Geometry" win­dow (see also "Page Geometry" Window).

Approval - Pages

"Approval - Pages" opens the "Approval - Pages" window. (see also "Approval of Selected Elements" Window).

Properties

The page properties are displayed when you select this function (shortcut Ctrl + I) (see also Properties of Page). You can only select this function if at least one page is selected.

Paste to "Gang Job"

You can paste pages that you copied from another job to the clipboard into the active job (gang job) when you select this function (shortcut Ctrl + Shift + V).

Paste

The pages you copied beforehand are pasted to the open job when you select "Paste" (shortcut Ctrl + V).

Copy

The information you need in the selected pages is copied to the clipboard when you select "Copy" (shortcut Ctrl + C).

Delete

Select "Delete" (shortcut Ctrl + Del) to delete the selected pages following confirmation of this action.

Comment

The "Comment" window displays when you select "Comment". You can enter a comment for the selected page. This comment displays immedi­ately afterwards in the comment column.

Refresh Source Pages

This function lets you reload the source pages of a gang job if the pages are changed.

Open Source Job

This function lets you open the related source job.

Open Current Proof

Select "Open Current Proof" if you wish to view the last proof created with Adobe Acrobat.

Assignment Presenta­tion

This function lets you assign pages in a fast and easy-to-follow way using drag-and-drop.

You will find the page list positions in one part. In another part, you will find the pages that you can now simply drag to the position you want with the mouse.

Show Thumbnails

The "Show Thumbnails" function (F4 key) changes the "Pages" view from a list to a thumbnail view (a checkmark is now set in front of the function).

The checkmark disappears when you select the function again, and the list view appears again.

Grouping

In "Grouping" you can group the pages by product, version and assignment.

·Product

The pages are grouped by product when you select "Product". A click on the small triangle in front of the "products" opens the section concerned and the pages related to the product are shown as thumbnails. If other groups are enabled (e.g. Version), you can see the thumbnails only after the group con­cerned is opened.

·Version

The pages are grouped by version (product parts) when you select "Version". A click on the small triangle in front of the "versions" opens the section concerned and the pages related to the version are shown as thumbnails. If other groups are enabled (e.g. Assign Count), you can see the thumbnails only after the group concerned is opened.

·Assigned

The pages are grouped by "Assigned" and "Not Assigned" when you select "Assigned". A click on the small triangle in front of "Assigned" or "Not Assigned" opens the section con­cerned and the relevant pages are shown as thumbnails.

Reload Selected Thumbnails

The selected (enabled) thumbnails are reloaded from the source file when you select this option.

Collapse All

All lower levels that are open are hidden when you select "Collapse All" (shortcut Alt + left arrow).

Expand All

All lower levels that are closed are shown when you select "Expand All" (shortcut Alt + right arrow).

View Properties

Select this function to open the "View Properties (Pages)" Window.
