"Destination" Option

When a print job is processed by a sequence in the Prinect workflow, not only do you have the processed PDF documents or pages that generally run through the various sequences or are output but you also have additional data that are created or copies of the processed data that are saved. In "Destination", you define how and where these data will be saved. This means that you can save, for example, the PDF documents processed by a sequence also as a side result. After the whole Prinect workflow has finished, you can then understand how a sequence processed the job data.

Prerequisite: In the FormProof sequence, you can only set up the "Destination" group if you set a softproof device as the output in the "on" list box. Then you can set the file location for the softproof PDF files in the "Imposition Softproofs" group. The "Destination" group is dimmed if you set a connected proofer as the output.

You can specify the paths for the output files in the various Destination setups. In the path name box, the default setting for the output folder is "$Template". This is a variable that creates a folder with the name of the current FormProof sequence. The folder is created the moment a new job is created and this FormProof sequence is assigned to the new job.

"Output is" list box

This is where you define whether the data will be saved as an "intermediate result" or as the "saved result". In the "SendImposedPDF" sequence, you can save the following data that are created or processed in the sequence as a "result":

intermediate result

The resulting data are saved but are processed by subsequent sequences and are released for overwriting after they are sent to the next processing stage.

Temporary side result

The resulting data can be overwritten by the subsequent sequences.

"Imposition Softproofs" group

Prerequisite: You can use this group only if a soft proofer (soft proof, PDF export, Tiff export, etc.) was set as the proofer (in the "on" list box).

"Store" list box

You can choose between the following options if a side result option is set in the "Output is" list box:

Job internal

The pages files are filed in the "SheetProofs\$Template" folder. You can change this path setting, if required.

Job external

You can use "Browse" to select a folder for filing the pages to be approved in the file system of the Prinect server or you can create a new folder. In this case, copies of these pages are created in addition to the "job internal" surfaces and filed in the folder you selected.

"Name Rule" option

This is where you can select a rule for naming the output files of this sequence. The use of name rules lets you, for example, use certain data of the print job in the file names. The name rules that were defined in "Administration > Resources > Rules for File and Folder Names" display in the list (see Rules for File and Folder Names).

"BookletProof" Sequence Template

This sequence lets you compile document pages of a booklet and their marks to one "booklet document" and send this to a proofer. "BookletProof" can be used especially in the case of versioned documents where different languages, for example, can occur in the text parts while the images are not affected by the languages.

BookletProof is a combination of "ImposePDF" and "ImpositionProof". Temporary output files are created first of all and then output to a proofer.

A sheet PDF document is created from a sheet layout with this sequence and this document is then output as a proof.

You can configure the following options in the "BookletProof" sequence:

"Accept approved pages only" Option

"Color Usage" options

"Color Conversion" option

"Plate Reuse Simulation" Option

"Marks Replacement" Option

"Imposition" Option

"InRIP Trapping" Option

"Layout Preparation" option

"Imposition" Option

"Rendering" Option

"File Output" Option

"Proofing" Option

"Remote Approval" Option

"Messaging" Option

"Messaging" Option

"Destination" Option

"Accept approved pages only" Option

When this option is checked and the "Approve Page" or "Approve Imposition" option is also checked in the preceding sequences, processing of your data continues only if the pages or surfaces have "Approved" as their production approval status.
